1. Who has had the most influence on NZ sailing, locally and internationally?.... Bruce Farr on the design side, sailing probably Dalton2.Who is your favorite NZ yacht designer?... Farr followed by Jim Young, honorable mention to Roger Hill cos he is a mate & drew the lines for CZ when working for Farr
3. Who is the bad boy if NZ sailing?... take your pick from Dalton/Coutts/Butterworth and off the water the legendary Woodie5.what is Murray Ross, and Bruce Farr up to?... I think Murray is back in NZ, Bruce has retired to Orlando (no idea why there of all places)6. Bruce F has shifted to Florida from the cold winters of Annapolis, and sailing a DF65 and a DF95 with great success and winning regattas.

Yes DF65 (650mm loa)  DF95 (950mm loa)  Sorry a bit of self promotion here. The fastest growing classes in the world. I hear Bruce is looking at designing a IOM. |

6. Who is NZs biggest sailing under achiever?. Dickson and Barker tied for first. Failed at Olympics and AC. Dickson also failed at RTWR ( Whitbread)

PS, everyone knows Bo Birdsall was NZ's best designer. Holland!.... Nah just joking.. it has to be farr. He just did so much from dingies to 18 footers to trailer sailors, to keeler's and internationally was a legend. Bo Birdsal never floated my boat. Favorite boat... SmackwaterJack - V1 cabin Favorite farr boat was Woody's Mr Jumper and Stu Brentnals Red Lion. Another designer forgotten about... Ron Holland, new breed - Shaw |
