after listening to ginny on the radio this morning
i don't think labour have any plans to change anything important
rather their plan seems to be
- continue denying that they're done anything wrong and the public are mistaken
- continue attacking the gov. for being unable to making the fuzzy logic programs labour introduced, work, even though labour couldn't get them to work either
- keep promising youth that they can have it all and never have to work
- keep waiting for boomers to die so they can harvest their wealth through trickle-down
someone has to replace chippy
and many think "nz's not a democracy" willie, can bring on the 'revolution'

After the Gaurav Sharma affair I find him one of the least trustworthy people in politics. Bishop (who given he was a lobbyist for British American Tobacco I also don't trust) was on the platform yesterday and mentioned that Labour also had a fast track bill and were very proud of it. Unlike the current govt, they had one minister to do the signing off of projects, rather than three. But lets not let facts get in the way of a good story... theplatform.kiwi/podcasts/episode/chris-bishop-on-protestor-hypocrisy-over-the-fast-track-legislation

Agree, there is something shady about McAnulty.

Ha, Michael Laws again. theplatform.kiwi/podcasts/episode/michael-laws-exposes-irony-in-arderns-kindness-empathy-missionSomething to the affect of - I thought that there was nothing this week that would eclipse the Greens and Marama Davidsons announcement.
But, I'm wrong! That has been eclipsed by an old politician who has lurched and stumbled out of our recent past history, who has atomised anything the greens said, in terms of hypocrisy, and in terms of just a sheer lack of self awareness and a complete disregard for fact, history or the concerns of literally hundreds of thousands of people.
Exhibit A - And she rides back into our lives - Dame Jacinda Ardern.haha, it goes on. Mostly vomit worthy when he starts quoting the self declared republican. Ooops, I mean our previous primemincer who took the Damehood. Edit - it's quite funny when he gets wound up.

McAnulty (I feel dirty even typing his name!) not getting asked if he aspires to be leader for no reason. He seems like the kind of person that would silently stand on babies heads if it helped him move his political career ahead. Another self avowed socialist, yet claimed ~$35K housing allowance for a flat owned by his wife. Backed 5 waters to the hilt. Treated Gaurav Sharma like a piece of shit. And turned a large majority for his Wairarapa seat into a loss over the three years. Please, please let him take over. www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2024/08/we_all_know_what_this_means.htmlt.co/Fxw7zB1DpA

Labour had been deliberately keeping a low profile, aware the public didn't really want to hear from them for a while. The party has been in a state of internal soul searching - this two-day trip to Auckland was about reconnecting with the public. Auckland is where elections are won and lost - and Labour knows it. Hipkins acknowledged Labour would need to win back a big chunk of support in Auckland if the party wanted to be back in Government in two years. The three c's are what lost it for them; COVID-19, crime and cost of living. Hipkins had a direct ministerial hand in two of those problems - he was the Police Minister while retail crime soared. He was also the COVID-19 Response Minister that kept Auckland locked down for three months.
Asked whether he was the right person to win back Auckland, Hipkins said: "Yeah, I am - I think I'm the right person to lead the Labour team into the next election.www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2024/07/chris-hipkins-promises-labour-will-be-formidable-force-at-election-2026.htmldenile - not just a river in egypti think; chippy, marama and JT and the pefect leaders for losing election 2026 but in 2028
the naive and easly bribed nz centrist voters
could be sucked in by the aspirational untruths lies of their successors

and yet again another Liebour MP gets caught out lying thru his teeth - Cam Slater goodoil.news/why-cant-chris-cahill-tell-the-truth/I could be generous and say Chris Cahill is being economical with the truth. However, in this instance, he is just flat-out lying. He appeared on Michael Laws’ show on the Platform about two weeks ago and was talking about gun laws. In the interview he made an astonishing claim that Matthew Hunt was killed with a semi-automatic assault rifle that had been “diverted” from a licenced firearm owner to the criminal. The inference was that the gun register would prevent this. Have a good listen, especially near the end where he gets all squirrelly and then changes the subject. Cahill is emphatic that this firearm was “diverted” and identified where the firearm originated from. That was a lie. There is no other word to describe it. How do I know it was a lie?
Well, because someone made an Official Information Act request about this precise matter. And, surprise, surprise, the Police have no idea where he got the firearm from and haven’t prosecuted anyone for the offence. I don’t know about you, but deliberately lying to a media organisation on behalf of the organisation you represent is pretty serious and should be the final nail in his coffin, after being busted multiple time for lying...and screwing up their pay negotiations. Perhaps Michael Laws might like to get this proven liar back on his show to hear what he has to say about it all. Personally, I think he should resign.

just a reminder of the recent past
Labour
Introduced a myriad of new taxes including the "Amazon" tax for things we buy over the internet, cancelled oil and gas exploration leading to record importation of coal (doubling coal use for electricity), scrapped national health targets leading to longer times until surgery, the backdown on foreign home buying, bottling of water and foreign student numbers, closing of well performing charter schools, over 150 "working groups" who achieve nothing, withdrew former funding for cochlear implants while funding sex-change surgery, axed mental health worker scheme for ambulance call-outs, Auckland Transport cancelling of school buses. House prices went up $145,000, so a $5000 first home grant was meaningless. Child poverty went up under Labour according to UNICEF. More hardship grants being given out. The failures of Kiwibuild and the planting of trees. The pointless bans on plastic bags and straws. The gun ban, after which gun violence exploded in NZ. 75% more waiting for state housing since Labour took charge. Greenhouse gas emmisions rose under Labour - " gross emissions rose 8,237 kt under Bolger and Shipley. Under Helen Clark they rose 7,239 kt. Under Key and English they dropped 323 kt. And so far under Ardern they are up 2,036 kt in just two years." The racially divided health sector is in ruins, with HUGE waiting times and a lack or nurses, who are heading overseas in droves - partially the result of her authoritarian mandates. Then there's the takeover via Three Waters, He Puapua (co governance) etc. There are almost too many things to mention.
The prime minister’s office set up and began to directly fund an arm of New Zealand academia which is known as The Disinformation Project. Project personnel attacked freedom of speech on national television, speaking over imagery from the Nazi era and atomic explosions. The Project closely monitors people who express views different from those of the government and seeks to discredit them with obviously unscientific canards. Simultaneously Ardern funded MSM and reached agreements with social media hosts. Thereby she was able to dictate content.
Everything they did was crap. Never forget. Never forgive
