I will be at Regency Drive Lake, Gulf Harbour this weekend racing in the North Harbour IOM Champs, should be a nice NEly blowing down the lake.

rather more pleasant afloat than the forecast suggested, enough sun at present for the solar panels to keep pumping amps into the batteries. Water tolerably warm enough for swimming |

Was a bit overcast to start but a beautiful day. Water warm so did a bit of hull maintenance. Need to get it in as apparently MPI and the council are diving on boats in Westhaven in June or July to check for biohazards.
Hopefully they look at the source ie the marina itself as it is coated in everything and I have yet to see them do anything about it.
The majority of the places I go do not seem to have for example fan worm in close proximity but the marina does. I wonder where I mighty pick it up from…….
Anyway nice calm night. Dodgy alternator on one engine so clearly some expenditure coming up.

I’m amazed how much pleasure boat traffic there is up & down the Northland coast for this time of year (and day of week)! <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> A big chunk of those boats are the Northern Triangle 2 handed race boats. 30 or 40 odd I think. They are required to carry AIS now. They changed the course around due to covid, and are doing a 300 nm race starting and ending in Auckland, rounding Pearcy Island (Cape Brett) in the north, and something near Tauranga / off Coro in the south. Started at Northern LEadign at 2 pm yesterday. Made a nice sight heading north of Kawua yesterday evening. |
