Does anyone know any more to this story now. I was told this morning that there were two Kayakers in trouble and the boat skipper was asked to go back out into that Sea to help them. Apparently it all went wrong and the Kayakers weren't actually in trouble and now the guy that asked the skipper to go out in that feels real bad about it all. I don't blame that guy. The Skipper should have said no, or at least unloaded the Kids. I also hear that the Skipper has died. That's sad. But it could also have been worse. my take is the same as you. Every bar I've crossed has always had a calm side/section that is easily navigated. It's just a Matter of determining where it is ( usually the deep water section at low tide) Back in the day (4 years ago) we used a drones to sus channels out when entering reef areas. The numbers look bad this year but as a percentage of the number of people on the water it is probably no worse than a cold crappy Summer.
