Haha, now I've been banned from that censored forum. It started with BP deleting my thread on the new Rahui. Then aardvark started a thread on the rahui which didn't get deleted, so I asked why, and my posts got deleted, so I spammed the site with links to this forum...
I got a warning for that, which apparently I was required to acknowledge, but now I'm just banned and they are too scared to even let me view the site!?!

You’ve got to wonder what those guys are so afraid of?!
I’ve said before I’ve got no problems with their views & beliefs in and of themselves. But I’ve got a problem with their rabid censorship of views that don’t match them.
I use the word ‘rabid’ in a considered sense. Because that is what it has become. I really don’t know what motivates those guys to behave that way.
Anyway, enjoy your freedoms here!

I think they saw fishes post here and made a call to flick him by banning a reasonable post to get him revved up ... Then ban him full time. You got to remember they are bunch of toe jam Real estate thief's... RE people rate below used car salesman and alongside politicians. |

Leave them to it. Yes I feel free. They have been on the decline for some time and it was time I moved on.
I can understand they may want to run the site in the way they want, but you simply can't take people on the journey if you don't tell them. I posted about a rahui, but it got pinged for being 'political'. If they just sent me a message saying, mate, this post crosses the line because of x and y, then I would know. But the thing just got deleted. That is just incredibly rude. It is like sending a kid to his room, without saying what he's done wrong.
Obviously I got the ban for spamming the site with the link for this, but I was done by then.

The EDITOR has locked ardvark thread on scallops and I have made a new post knoing they will lock it too.
But here it is from LEGASEA, this is the start of a slippery slope where the minority,IWI,can voice their opion and have the Minister bow down.When will iwi go the full hog and just ban recreational /commercial fishing the hauraki gulf or push for toatl ban of vessels??

Ngāti Manuhiri placed a rāhui on all scallop harvesting across their rohe moana due to a decline in scallop populations.
The closure area spans from Mangawhai Heads down to Takapuna, encompassing Great Barrier and Little Barrier Islands, and applies to commercial, recreational and customary fishing.
A dawn ceremony to lay a rāhui tapū was held yesterday at Tāwharanui regional park, with our LegaSea crew attending the ceremony.
The rāhui is supported by local communities and organisations, and the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust have submitted an application to the Minister Parker for a two-year closure on all scallop harvesting.
We ask all fishers to please support the rāhui, to help restore Hauraki Gulf scallop populations.
Fulsome support for the closure has already been announced by NZ Diving, Wettie NZ, local clubs including the Warkworth Gamefish Club, Mangawhai Boating & Fishing Club and Omaha Beach Community Inc, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and New Zealand Underwater Association.
Recent applications from Ngāti Hei, Ngāti Tamatera and Ngāti Paoa to close scallop fisheries in their areas have been approved by Minister Parker, and with Ngāti Manuhiri also joining the action, it is clear scallop populations need time to rebuild and the fishery needs to shut.
Fisheries New Zealand is currently consulting on proposals to close the entire Hauraki Gulf to Bay of Plenty scallop fishery from April this year. The New Zealand Sport Fishing Council, New Zealand Angling & Casting Association and the New Zealand Underwater Association have submitted in support of the Minister closing both the Northland and Hauraki Gulf – Bay of Plenty (Coromandel) scallop fisheries on the northeast coast to all harvesting for a minimum of three years.

Why are you locking/removing posts about our scallop situation. Is not in the best interest to get information out there in the public as to the plight of our fishery??
Do not see any valid reason to lock such threads, there was no slinging match going on.
Yes its a sailing site but its all part of the parcel or associated activities.

just another example of the prevailing mindset that dissenting views will not be tolerated, just the same as the likes of Stuffed blocking anyone posting against the Global Warming dogma.
The first time I had a post on that Forum censored I raised it with Aarky(this was before Small Talk was deleted), he agreed that my view was not unreasonable but pretended not to know who had done it, clearly Psyche/Editor is a bit of a control freak. In the old days it was just BP downvoting anything I posted in Small Talk, which I took as recognition I had made my point...

And yes leaving them to it is my philosophy too.
After all, why should I give my free time and effort typing my ramblings to a (now) truly awful forum / owner / editorial team?
Why should they benefit from getting my traffic as a poster?
The owners & operators of Crew seem to forget that visitors & users are a privilege which they should encourage and cherish. Not abuse & censor and treat like misbehaving children.
Why should I have to make the effort to learn and understand their totally non-transparent rules to avoid censorship?
They have not paid me anything to give them my free advice & input so why should I visit their forum let alone ask the Editor why he makes those weird decisions?
Yes, leave them it. And they will get the membership they deserve…
