My grandfather was given 6 months to live after being diagnosed with cancer ….he lived another 6 years but still died of cancer . So yeah all those predicted dates are alarmist for sure . There will be a tipping point sometime who knows when . hell , the hauraki gulf is nearly poked and I am always a bit shocked sailing in there and it looks like Kowloon harbour …last race I did out of there a friggin bloated dog drifted through the fleet ! . Not a cl8mate change catastrophe but pollution from our great lifestyle in Auckland nz . BOI will be next , cause the gulf is fucked a large percentage of Auckland boats go up there and give the water a Dijon mustard brown tint instead , thanks to lovely products of foodstuffs and Woolworths passing through your holding tanks . We are fairly well insulated in cotton wool down here in NZ from severe pollution and war etc so it’s easy to have our heads up our asses and not smell our own shit . Pollution is a thing and we all do it and it goes up exponentially with disposable income . I won’t eat seafood out of my local harbour because there is a massive over the water log storage platform , the logs have fire retardant on them which gets washed into the harbour when it rains and it’s nasty shit to say the least ….antifoul has nothing on that stuff . www.horizons.govt.nz/managing-natural-resources/water/pfas . It’s not ok to have practice with this stuff at airports anymore but it’s ok to let it wash off logs into harbours .

I thought the main issue with export logs was they need to be fully fumigated before loading, so they use methyl-bromide. Generally under black plastic sheets... I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure methyl-bromide is what the Germans used to gas the Jews, pikeys, gays and what not with mind-boggling industrial efficiency back in the 1940's. But yeah, its getting harder for anyone to deny climate change. Mass penguin deaths in Doubtless Bay - warm water from La Nina is stuffing all the bait fish they eat. Record heatwave across Pakistan & India, widespread failing crops and food shortages. Those are just the headlines in the last 2 days, no special research on anything. I think the guys on this thread are more struggling with the political response to it, and the measures the govt are taking, which is a political thing, not a factual thing. Unless I'm wrong and people here still think the earth is flat too?

Unless I'm wrong and people here still think the earth is flat too? Sorry but you must be. When I stopped at the lights this morning I didn't use the brake yet I didn't roll away. Surely if the word was round I would have rolled thru the intersection.
Simplistic for sure but if you are a bit shallow of thought or were conceived to the sound of banjos dualling then the above would make logical sense.
I am constantly amazed and what people will believe if you say it/phrase it right, even after all the shit that clearly shows you're a muppet if you do believe it.

For the first time in my life I actually hate a politician. I've loathed ,despised ,and detested them historically but this one eclipses Muldoon,lange/Douglas et al by 100 %. Hope the job interview at the UN went well.

Yesterday I was having a beer with a mate who owns a big mechanic outfit in Akl and EV's came up.
He reckons some towies will now not tow a EV from a crash site as their insurance won't cover them if they do. He's been told as renewals come up there will be more told Nope. There is that shipping company, one who is reported to have moved the most EV's, that lost a ship to a suspected EV meltdown, it has stopped transporting EV's. Mate has also had to get a 'EV extension' to his works insurance just so they can have them in to get a WOF or work done on them.
Whatever you think of EV's if mate is correct that is a big and growing issue they will have to sorted out before mass uptake gets to be mass.
Mate did buy his Wa a EV and specifically a Nissan due to them having a battery that is easily read down to cell level and dodgy individual cells can be replaced. Most batteries need total replacement even if they have lost one or 2 cells. After talking to him about Tesla and all the wankery with those I certainly won't be going there. They can get the gear to read all cars...except Tesla who want to keep everything in house. He then offered a potential reason why they want that but I detected a bit of conspiracy theory in action...or I hope so as if it's Tesla are Aholes. Interesting about the Nissans though, smart thinking on their behalf I reckon.
When they have to do much more than do a drive, with only a handbag, somewhere not too far away they use the EV. When heading to/from their boat or anything else they use one of their 2 Prados. They do tow a lot.

Here's how the Greeks view climate change in reality...
Paros. Power - diesel generator 98%. plus a couple of wind / solar set ups 2%.
Water, desalination with diesel generator 95%. Couple of small wells.
The other islands are same or worse.
Cars. Haven't seen a EV yet and seen one hybrid.
Ships diesel
Nobody cares about Greenie crap!
50% + of cars on islands are rental cars... All petrol.
Main building material... Concrete ( the worst material for the environment)
Skies are blue, airs is clean, seas are crystal clear. ( No dirt runoff)
No issues with environment no problem.

couple of postings from elsewhere Governments world wide point to the Paris Accord when they prattle on about climate change action and hide behind this document as a reason for their actions. We have seen the destruction of food production in Sri Lanka and it is now happening to Holland.
The question that needs to be answered is why dont the boffins follow the Paris Accord to the letter?
Article 2, section 1, (b) clearly states - (b) Increasing the ability to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change and foster climate resilience and low greenhouse gas emissions development, in a manner that does not threaten food production;Very clear for everyone to read and follow but not one country does
CO2 is only 0.04% of the worlds atmospheric gases, and of that 0.04%, man's alleged contribution is 3.225% of that or a miniscule, almost irrelevant 0.00129% of the world's entire atmosphere, and the climate change scammers and claim that if we reduce that tiny amount by 10%, 20% or even 50%, destroying civilisation in the process, we will save the planet from this non-existent threat.

From SA
Anthony Albanese claimed today that the current floods were due to climate change. I thought we might have a look at some historical records for flood heights at Windsor. This latest flood peaked at 13.93m. How does this compare to past events? August 1990 13.5m March 1978 14.5m June 1964 14.6m Nov 1961 15m February 1956 13.8m July 1900 14.5m September 1879 13.6m April 1870 14.1m June 1864 15.1m February 1817 14.4m June 1816 14.1m August 1809 14.7m I left out the biggest of all. A devastating flood in June 1867 reaching 19.7m!
But tell us about your childhood again Albo...

Been trying to bring in World Government for 40 odd years in the name of combating global warming etc.
Its not going too good.
The Pandemic met with a less than cohesive response too.
The new plan is global food shortage.
A society stays civil for only a matter of days once the food runs out, then the guns come out.
The masses will follow pretty much anyone for the promise of a meal at the end of the day.
Have a look around your house. How long could you last if the supermarket had no food?
Might not happen here, but it sure looks like its going to happen soon in some supposedly civilised countries, wonder what they will be willing to do for their daily bread.
