Auckland Engineering Services have advised that Castrol have advised they will be doubling their oil prices soon. Something to do with Russia & Ukraine.
So, if you see an oil change in your future, buy your oil now.

Glad I still have enough stashed away for 3 changes, and that I topped off my tanks when diesel was 2.28 (and still have another 40 litres in jerry cans)

Very painful.

apart from general oil price increase, Ukraine effect, the NZ dollar falling (down to USD 0.65) and increasing fuel excise taxes, the other international factor that is going to impact on the price of diesel is the increased demand for Jet A1 as air travel starts cranking up again - they are both extracted from the part of the oil fractionation column. Same as happened pre GFC

Diesel was 2.39 at our usual as we passed yesterday, which is outside of the Akl tax zone.
Don't care about petrol, only my bikes use that stuff and like clutches, fuel tanks on motorbikes are also designed to be punished. But I did raise a wee eyebrow when it cost nearly a full fiddy notes to fill my Duc. But I pushed thru that in a second or 2 knowing I'm saving the planet and at time there will be a cost to that.
I have quite a stash of oil, not as much as 3-4 years ago, not sure if I should explain why though. These days people don't tend to listen to entire sentences, they fixate on a word or phrase which they then can't let go of while ignoring the rest.

I'd love to know why you don't have as much oil as 3-4 years ago. And if it helps, I normally read all of your posts ;-)

I read yours as well, after all this time who would have guessed that Dare I say I owned, partially, 3 oil wells in Arkansas. Sold them to a chinese outfit once it became blatantly obvious the real coin is in the new green economy, green as in environmentally not the stuff rolled in zig-zags. Mr China will be doing OK today with the price being over a hundy a barrel. I still get all the data and so on, in that I see the rig count has stopped falling and is increasing again. They were retiring lots as the coin just wasn't there but with it so high some look to be being recommissioned.
