Yes there was some beers going down, that's how you come up with the questions the world is pressing to answer
Which do you reckon would get back to Akl first, a TP52 doing the SSANZ RNI so has 3 stops or a R930 doing RNI without the stops?
There was a E40 non stop in there as well but we all reckon it would be home before the TP quite comfortably.
The 930 we reckon would so we upped the game to make it a old school stock 930 i.e. no turbo keel, alloy rig and the threw one of the crew to the sharks so she is now single handed.
Given the TP and 930 like similar winds that should even the game generally unless there is any windward of quantity, the stock 930's hates that shit.
I think the 930 would and would with a margin but I was in the minority.

If you had to race the TP52 2 up, oh, and without electric winches, I'd back the R930. If the TP52 was fully crewed, different story.

Na not a trick question I thought GO30 would know β¦. ok so the stock R930 placed 2nd to last but that could be radars sailing skills not necessarily boat speed π and the TP52 13th and the fast 52 was 12th

SMU is stock with a carbon rig. Also the PHRF committee don't know much about 930's, they think all of them are turboed to the max, so SMU got a bit screwed with the PHRF she got. The PHRF given to us for the last RNI was bizarre to say the least. A 930, in the same state she was 30 years ago, got a PHRF higher than every S34, every F1020 and all R930's including all the turbos except for 1, one that the owner spent so much on deck gear alone the Harken Bros retired the following day We saw zero value in spending 10-20K just to go for a 2 week sail so bailed out. Kia Kaha wasn't mentioned, the discussion was using Wired. Some of the TP's/Fast52's do have lectric winches. So a TP52 doing the SSANZ RNI so 3 stops totalling 3.5 days I think it is verse a stock 930 doing the same track but without the stops.

Ok so wired is a bit different having a canting keel so itβs hard to quantify that one and the blokes that sail it are twice the size of the average person π
