there's a story about Irish sailor Harold Cudmore competing in the 1993 Admirals Cup cutting a bit close to the Isle of Wight under spinnaker hitting something that knocked the keel off. The boat was still upright so they continued on to sail up the nearest beach, where he and the crew stepped off the yacht and went to the pub leaving all the sails still setting   |
