According to the Salvation Army State of the Nation report this year, which tracked crimes between June 2017 (winston gave power to labour in 2017) and June 2021, homicides have increased 11% in New Zealand. Acts intended to cause injury have increased 31%. Sexual assaults have increased 33%. Thefts have increased 10%.www.1news.co.nz/2022/06/26/hipkins-pledges-to-tackle-rising-violent-crime/can hipkins + labour ever get crime down to the levels 9 years of national had achieved?

The "be kind" programme is taking a bit longer to get through to the team of 5 million.

Of course
when you're overly kind to children, criminals and proto-criminals you risk producing self-entitled, never-happy, narcissists who believe their job is to endlessly take
and everyone else's is to endlessly give
they will use every lever given to them to take more and give less until the weight of their parasitic existence either collapses the whole system or the system rejects them
time and time again we see this from the individual right through to the national level

When I see stats like this, in this age of misinformation, the first thing I think is who has been cooking the numbers? Under National, how suppressed was the reporting? It recall it was near on impossible to report non-urgent crime over that period. You couldn't report via 111, so needed to call your local police station. I tried it once. They don't answer the phone. You basically had to go down there in person and wait. Easy way to suppress reported crime numbers. I think that was Judith Collins brain child, as police or justice minister or what ever. Don't get me wrong though, I support the sentiment against Labour. But there are a number of political lobby groups with axes to grind, and what is that saying, lies, damn lies and statistics? PS, don't forget Labour have just dumped their Police Minister, Poto Williams. That is not insignificant, and as best as you will ever get as an admission they have fucked up.

so Hipkins now says they are going to do something about crime.
Meanwhile a colleague has just been texted by his wife that she is caught in an armed holdup in a jewelry shop at the Meadowbank Shopping mall. He rang the cops, they said it had been reported but did not know the guy has a rifle. Colleague is high tailing it for the city
Apparently 3rd jewelry store hold up this week.
This is what this current excuse for a government have allowed to happen.....

I actually read that BS from Hipkins. Did you know there is currently no law against doing a drive buy shooting? Jesus Fucking Fuck Fuck! The crimes act says it is only intimidation if you discharge a firearm inside a premise. So the Police are struggling to prove intimidation when a bunch of gang members drive down the road and shoot the house up from the outside. We've got all these rules on what antifoul to use, signage on Council controlled land, regulations on stopping you using solar for your new development, mandating nurses out of jobs, BUT THERE IS NO RULE AGAINST DRIVE-BUY SHOOTINGS!?!?!?! I can't handle this nonsense. I need some time out. Go for a walk or something. Love to go for a windsurf but the bay is still full of poos and wees from yesterdays rain... The Crimes Act had also left a loophole, where it was not considered intimidating to fire a gun on the street. The current Crimes Act left some grey areas around how to charge people involved in drive-by shootings, he said. To clear up the law, he said the Government would create an offence of firing a gun to intimidate any person or group. Shooting a gun is currently only considered a “threatening act” if you fire a gun “in any dwelling”. www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/300635934/government-plans-to-expand-search-warrants-in-crackdown-on-gang-violence

Oh OK, so they are struggling to prove 48(a) or (b)
Now I get what Hipkins is saying....
So they want to make it illegal to fire a gun near a dwelling. That will piss off a few hunters I know who hunt off their back porch.

Weird... this is the Arms Act 1983... I'm just saying what the govt said. Stated by their only competent Minister and honestly reported by the main stream media (allegedly). Now thedeleted, you can't go around calling us all conspiracy-anti-don't-trust-the-government types if you don't actually believe what they say either, and start trying to search out facts, and like, the truth and all every time they say something. Before you know it, you will be actively questioning their narrative on vaccines, wanting to know how safe they actually are, and challenging the need for half of the health sector workforce to be mandated out ;-) PS, it could all be spin and a brilliant smoke and mirrors game by Hipkins to deflect from the Police doing absolutely fuck all about gangs and spending all their time trying to track down the last 16 Wellington Freedom protestors, and paving the way for them to say "Hay, look, we fixed it, vote for us again", when in actual fact they had the tools / laws to deal with it all along and couldn't be bothered. Too busy beating Freedom Fighters in Wellington, or prosecuting grannies for using weed to manage their arthritis pain.

Good people lose their freedom Crime stats increase proportional to the laws you introduce! A lose, lose, lose situation

Video supplied to the New Zealand Herald shows the moment the 27-year-old man attempts to run from police before punching the female officer, knocking the officer off her feet and causing her to hit the ground head first.
The ordeal took place in the middle of a road in the Auckland suburb of Manurewa on Monday afternoon.
