The numbers have dropped because..
1. The cops are catching less of the ass-wipes.
2. What they are catching are to young to prosecute and getting diversion.
3. They are Maori and go through a different system now.
Fuck labour is just full of spin and deciept!

Thats really bloody concerning . I don’t remember having a policeman following me around at 8 years old supervising my behaviour but my parents sure as hell did and so did my school . And that’s the rub , society is slowly breaking down and the old adage “back in my day” really rings true . If you want to live somewhere safe go to Queenstown . Its eye watering expensive , too far for crims to drive to for a quick Rob and if they did the escape routes are limited and the kids are pampered and dashing , daring types not ram raiders .

I think I've worked out why NZ has a crime problem all of a sudden. Kelvin Davis, Minister of Corrections, posted this to FB 6 days ago... He is very proud of letting everyone go.
When I became Minister of Corrections, prisons were overflowing. It was so bad that there were immediate decisions I faced about planning for prisoners to be housed in halls and even vacant boarding schools. If we had of continued on that path today, we would be facing triple or even quadruple bunking for prisoners and the need to build billion dollar mega prisons on the regular. Instead, the prison population has been safely reduced by almost 25%. People who commit serious crimes are still doing the time, but we have been able to make real progress in rehabilitation and other areas thanks in large part to Hōkai Rangi – Corrections’ Māori strategy. So it was good to sit down with Stuff for a longer chat about where things are at in this space. Yes, there have been challenges. Covid has definitely not helped and has slowed down progress in some areas where I would have liked to be further ahead. But you can’t argue with what has been achieved: 🔴 There are 1200 fewer Māori in prison than when we formed the Government 🔴 The Māori imprisonment rate has dropped from 657 per 100,000 to 457 per 100,000 🔴 We have halved the women’s prison population 🔴 The use of double bunking has dropped by 53% 🔴 Reconviction and reimprisonment rates are also heading in the right direction We still have a long way to go, there are still many challenges ahead. But I am proud of all that is achieved and my thanks goes out to all the hardworking Corrections staff who have helped achieve that.

someone tried to hot-wire my bike out the back of our place the other night
recently some dodgy hnz neighbors have moved into the street...
the bike has an immobilizer built in from the factory so wasn't ever going to run without the chipped key 'talking' to the computer, but i guess most car thieves aren't known for intelligence
even the wires they chose to twist together didn't lead to the ignition
and i have no idea how they planned to defeat the big U-bolt through the wheel
but they do seem to have blown some circuitry in bike and it now won't start
it's an old high mileage bike so would likely be an insurance write-off, if it had been insured
hopefully i can buy some affordable 2nd hand electronics and get it running again
thanks for nothing; kelvin, labour and the be-kind-to-criminals gang

She is shallow, MIA, and soon to be history
