I might be suspened or worst as a investigation to be carried out in the work place. I made a comment to worker.employee v employee. I said you are a lazy bastard just like the rest of country men,How hard is it to refuel at the end of the day,now I got too piss around in the rain to refuel. And remove the crap youve left in the cab, lazy fucker. Yes called in to office to explain my actions as he has gone straight to HR for bullying/harrassment. Fuck me. Should I of given him a slap like 20yrs ago.Maybe offered him a cuppa tea and biscuit. What is the work place becoming when you cant have ago at another worker. Yes I can see a Manager/Supervisor being in the shit ,But an employee having a crack about another being lazy? That would piss me off. End of the day there are other places to work, your company should realise that, and manage the situation appropriately. Depending how easily I could find another job I'd not be backing down. If I apologise end of matter and thats not going to happen. We have these things called TOOL BOX talks, where you read and sign. They are about procedures the company requires from time to time. And the one we all signed was .Each driver to refuel at end of shift and supervisor will do random checking with driver for cleaniess of cab etc. Saw a funny post on FB today. Employer. " I pay you just enough so you dont quiet". Employee."Thats ok I do just enough work so I cant be sacked".

The Cass report out about the kids transitioning fiasco. Absolutely astonishing it's taken this long to even look like being reined in. Wonder what nuzld will take and learn from this. www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2024/04/the_cass_report.htmlChildren have been let down by a lack of research and “remarkably weak” evidence on medical interventions in gender care, a landmark review says. The Cass Review, published on Wednesday by paediatrician Dr Hilary Cass, calls for gender services for young people to match the standards of other NHS care.
She says the “toxicity” of the debate around gender meant professionals were “afraid” to openly discuss their views.Sadly medical professionals who had concerns were hounded for voicing their concerns. Dr Cass told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that clinicians were concerned about having “no guidance, no evidence, no training”.
She said “we don’t have good evidence” that puberty blockers are safe to use to “arrest puberty”, adding that what started out as a clinical trial had been expanded to a wider group of young people before the results of that trial were available.Young people who are gender incongruant should not be given treatments that don’t have an evidence base behind them. I absolutely support interventions that have been trialled and which have conclusions about effectiveness and benefits and risks. “It is unusual for us to give a potentially life-changing treatment to young people and not know what happens to them in adulthood, and that’s been a particular problem that we haven’t had the follow-up into adulthood to know what the results of this are,” she said. That is startling. The report recommends that clinicians should address issues patients may have, that are not necessarily related to their gender identity, when they are referred to the new clinics. Dr Cass says these “holistic assessments” should include screening for neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, and a mental health assessment.
She said the assessments would address what she called “diagnostic overshadowing” – when patients’ other healthcare issues were overlooked in cases of patients questioning their gender.
She told Today that many of the more than 3,000 young people being seen by gender identity services were birth-registered girls presenting in early teens, “often with quite complex additional problems”.
She said about 15 years ago only 50 predominantly birth-registered boys were being seen by gender identity services.Basically the report concludes you shouldn’t just conclude that gender incongruence is the only problem and hence a gender change is the only solution. In many cases it could well be the best solution, but not all. The fact that there has been a 5000% increase in referrals is an issue that needs more research into why. “What’s unfortunately happened for these young people is that because of the toxicity of the debate, they’ve often been bypassed by local services who’ve been really nervous about seeing them,” Dr Cass said.
“So rather than doing the things that they would do for other young people with depression, or anxiety, or perhaps undiagnosed autistic spectrum disorder, they’ve tended to pass them straight on to the Gid service.”
“There are few other areas of healthcare where professionals are so afraid to openly discuss their views, where people are vilified on social media, and where name-calling echoes the worst bullying behaviour,” she said. Her report added that the “exceptional” toxicity has had a negative impact on the quality and availability of evidence. The bullies on social media have a lot to answer for. The report also warns that younger children should be treated with a “more cautious approach” than adolescents when considering whether to allow them to change their names, pronouns or clothing – known as socially transitioning. It says those who have not yet reached puberty should be “prioritised for early discussion with a professional with relevant experience” and they should be put on a separate care pathway than older, adolescent patients. I’ve made this point before. There younger the child, the more cautious one should be about conclusions.

I said you are a lazy bastard just like the rest of country men, What ethinicity is he, and did you make a dig about it? Nothing wrong with querying complaince with company SOPs (refueling and tidying cab), but HR will get thier tits in a tangle with you bring race or ethincity into it. I'd keep good written records of everything you said and others etc, just in case you feel the need to push back via official channels such as a PG. Never hurts to cover your bases. Oh, and if your truck wasn't ready and fit for you to do your assigned work, you can turn the situation around onto the company for not applying the rules and managing said lazy fecker. If you have a well written history. HR will always take the basic truth and put just a slight spin on it, making it look abit like something else. If you have the notes, it is harder for them to do that.

Currently on a 3 day suspension paid. Which is good timing. No ,didn't mention ethnicity(indian) we have 20 singhs. Been building a while, other drivers have had same issues with them. Pointed out to manager/supervisor what happens off site and how some of us field the complaints.
Unfortunately didn't engage brain first and let rip. Supervisor knows exactly what I'm like, both of us been in the industry too long. Supervisor said take 3 days off to reflect and I will pay you.Got the number 1 capping at waikato uni Wenesday, weather just right for fishing and I go back Thursday night. Have agreed to apologise. Be a simple affair, sorry shake hand and walk away.
Been a hard month with staff on annual leave working 6 days(68hrs) midnight starts Do have a diary with events over 18yrs for that just incase moment. There is a drivers meeting on Sunday morning and Manager is going to explain again companies expectations and those who wont/cant comply will be moved on.
Hr are well aware of who I am as I question a lot of their ideas, some good some not so good. Doing a trial on a new delivery system which involves 3 x more waste in shrink wrap,so much for reducing our footprint. Pointed out NZ cannot recycle the waste as most ends up land fill. Instead of 2 deliveries a week most are going 3 deliveris, more trucks on road..Thank you for input was what the HR/compliance said. No doubt push on regardless.
Just pisses me off. Good $$ being paid with a 4% increase this year. One guy got hit the head by a plastic tray.Yes done the same, hurts for minute or 2, Now hes off on ACC 10 days. Not enough force to put neck out. Just makes wonder what the work force will look like in 5yrs?
If I reported every little niggle I would never be at work, ankle strapped up,knee has a strap at time, tingle in shoulder when sleeping. The body has taken its toll but thats life.Be it a carpetner/brick layer etc Been working major building sites in Auckland 1983 to 1991 in the HVAC industry but knees couldnt handle cramped conditions,so been driving since,4 more yrs to 65 and hopefully carry on for a 3 yrs if body holds out.

Hadn't heard about this case over in 'straya In short - Lady starts womens only app, man in dress tries to get join, gets kicked out coz he's a man and it's a womens only space, throws toys, takes case to high court, awesome woman doesn't back down, raises money to fight man in dress in court. Very interesting interview. theplatform.kiwi/podcasts/episode/sall-grover-talks-tickle-v-giggle-case-what-is-a-womanFunnily enough, it's almost a year to the day when the previous prime mincer couldn't answer the question - what is a woman. You get the impression that even in that 12 months the tide has turned a little against the moronic stupidity that a man wouldn't answer that question in case he caused an outrage.

My receptionist is transgender. She is lovely, immaculately groomed, does her job better than any we have had before and a girl through and through. I've known her since she was a kid with feminine features and dress to the woman she is now. I don't know what lies beneath but i don't care.
Having said that, i still object to transgenders entering women sports event etc. Sometimes its a little weird when we have heavy boxes to lift and i'm torn between doing the gentlemanly thing and accepting shes younger and stronger than me :-)

There are plenty of biological women that can't get pregnant / give birth. And not for lack of trying. I can't see what is wrong with the definition that a women is an adult human female.

Nah, shit definition. There are plenty of biological women that can't get pregnant / give birth. And not for lack of trying. I can't see what is wrong with the definition that a women is an adult human female. Whats on the birth certificate at time of birth? I wouldn't over think it. 'Female' is defined as someone with all the lady-bits. Male is defined as someone with all the dangly bits. I think what you were refering to as someone that can have babies is someone that has all the lady-bits. I can't see anything wrong with using that as a definition. Noting that 'being able to give berth' doesn't work cause many women with all the bits can't get pregnant. We'd probably have to add a caveat that they have the lady bits naturally, so that excludes surgery and artificial lady-bits. So the definition is 'adult human female' is fine, noting there is already a definition of a biological female (someone that has all the lady bits, and has them naturally).

At a daycare my wife worked at in Auckland's most affluent suburb they had a transgender female to male. One day a parent came to my wife expressing concern that her daughter was going to be getting changed by a man. Wife's response dead-pan straight faced "I think you will find XXXX is very in touch with his feminine side...."

I probably should have better things to do given I'm on staycation, but oh well... Interesting take on societal values this lady has, wants to change class structure and abolish prisons, but encourages crime. One can only assume she's happy to have her own place vandalised? Wonder how she'd get on in the real world if she had to get a non taxpayer funded job. www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2024/04/meet_an_auckland_university_lecturer.html profiles.auckland.ac.nz/emilie-raketeBIO I am a critical Marxist scholar working in the activist-academic tradition. The goal of my work is to demonstrate how social problems originate in the structure of society itself, and to argue for organised class struggle as a means of changing that structure. As for the snowflakes at vic uni. If anyone has a pair of balls for sale, perhaps we could send them to the vice chancellor down there, might need a section of spine as well. I guess at least he (she??) tried to have the conversation. But for crying out loud, tell the noisy minority to fark off. Or perhaps even attend and join in. Interesting that the snowflake students are now framing the free speech union as right wing. Last I heard they were against the banning of gang patches. Wellington really really does seem like an incestuous cesspit of left wing activists. www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2024/04/vic_uni_shows_how_under_threat_free_speech_is.htmlVic Uni shows how under threat free speech is
The new Victoria University Vice-Chancellor decided to have a forum at the university about free speech and academic freedom as it is obviously a topical issue, and the Government is looking at legislating some carrots or sticks for universities to uphold their obligations under the Education and Training Act. They had a great panel of five speakers, being: Law Professor Nicola Moreham from Victoria University (expert on media law) Emeritus Professor Jane Kelsey from the University of Auckland (activist and academic) Dr John Byron from the Queensland University of Technology (former president of the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations) Jonathan Ayling from the Free Speech Union Michael Johnston from the New Zealand Initiative (former VUW Associate Dean) There were 600 people keen to attend. The VUW staff also reached out to others with an interest in the area and had us do a two minute video segment with our views. It’s the sort of event that is so badly needed. But it got cancelled, or at least postponed. Why? The Post reports: Five academics and public figures were set to debate free speech on university campuses on Monday, but backlash within Victoria University has seen the event postponed.
More than 600 people had registered their interest in attending the event, a panel discussion about the role of universities in free speech.
But earlier this week the university postponed the event with a notice saying “the mere framing of this event has surfaced a depth of feeling and a polarisation of views on how we should proceed, that has made it challenging to even schedule a conversation about how to have challenging conversations”.
So what does that mean? We find out: Student association president Marcail Parkinson said that context had not been clear and people “freaked out” when they saw the panel line up, which looked like a platform for “right wing voices”, with the involvement of Free Speech Union president Jonathan Ayling and the New Zealand Initiative’s Dr Michael Johnston.
She was glad to see the event was postponed and being reformatted. “That’s 100% the right thing to do in this scenario, when you make a mistake, to say actually we realise we made a mistake and we’re going to try and fix it.”
Student protests had been planned for Monday’s event, Parkinson said, and it remained to be seen whether they would go ahead for the reformatted event.
So the panel got cancelled because it had two speakers on there who might have right wing views (the same views the majority of the country voted for at the last election). Some (I bet very few) students were unhappy that two people whose views they disagree with would be allowed to be heard by 600 people who wanted to hear from them. If ever one wanted proof of how free speech on campus is now a crisis, this is it. You can’t even have a panel discussion on the topic, unless it is exclusively made up of people with left wing views.
The forum is well intentioned, and I hope it still happens. But the cancellation or postponement has starkly shown more than ever that the status quo is unacceptable, and the Government does need to intervene to ensure universities live up to their statutory obligations around academic freedom and free speech.

of course
when you have 5 left-wingers on a list to speak at an open university forum
the students don't freak out, postpone the event, call it a mistake and demand balance
"defund the universities"
