Turkey, appropriately named perhaps, has just introduced a new law enabling journalists to be imprisoned for up to three years for spreading "disinformation".
How long before we have the same.. not long I bet although I wouldn't be suprised if ours will cover all social media including sailing forums.
What a time to be alive.. sigh.

Turkey is an Authoritarian regime and has had effectively a dictator running the show for how long? 20yrs? Journo's were already regularly targeted in Turkey, not quite as overt as Egypt locking Journo's up in solitary confinement indefinitely. I mean, there is no chance of that happening in NZ. We aren't an authoritarian regime, we are a liberal democracy with one person one vote. Journo's have never been targeted by the Police for criticizing the PM, oh, accept Nicky Hager and the dirty politics book... And maybe 1 or 2 others, but not Cindy's anointed journo's Barry Soper doesn't get to ask questions cause there is a que, not because he criticizes the PM. No. Chance. It. Could. Happen. in. NZ... |

Soper is ignored because he challenges Stalinda. Just like Hosking and slater and The Platform hosts, Bassett, Hyde, Dr Muriel Newman . and others.. All have been banned from interviews by Stalinda.
There is only a que that Stalinda vets! .. thsts😷 why we had the " tova and Jessica" monologues for so long
Under Ardern it could well happen here just like the CHCH shootings muzzle.
Free speech is more under threat than You think and Ardern is leading the WOKE challenge!
As for Turkey... Bunch of Putin loving pricks. Lovely country bur currently allowing Russian to fly/ Skirt the EU and holiday there!!!!!
