 We received about 20 inches of snow this week. So………. 8:00 am: I made a snowman. 8:10 - A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman. 8:15 - So, I made a snow woman. 8:17 - My feminist neighbour complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified women everywhere. 8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it should have been two snowmen instead. 8:22 - The transgender man / woman / person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts. 8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and are not to be used to decorate snow figures. 8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white. 8:30 - I used food colouring to make one of the snow couple a different colour and be more racially inclusive. 8:37 - Then I was accused of using a black face on the snowperson. 8:39 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be completely covered. 8:40 - The police arrived saying someone had been offended. 8:42 - The feminist neighbour complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role. 8:43 - The 'council on equality' officer arrived and threatened me with eviction. 8:45 - TV news crew from ABC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women? I replied "Snowballs" and am now a sexist. 9:00 - I was on the news as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe, and sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather. 9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services. 9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything, marched down the street demanding that I be arrested. 9:45 - The boss called and fired me because of the negative association with work that had been all over social media 10:00 - I cry into my drink because all I wanted to do was build a snowman... Moral: There ain't no moral to this story. It is what this world has become because of a bunch of snowflakes. Attachments:

My father in law spat the dummy yesterday. Apparently there is some cricket on somewhere with the New Zealand team. But they have been renamed Aotearoa. So the scoreboard caption thingee on the TV said "Aotearoa need XXX to win".
It incensed him so much that he put some tape on his TV screen over the Aotearoa bit.
I mean, fair call, when did we have a referendum to change the name? We had a referendum to change the flag, and that got kicked to touch, so why the name?
And besides, Aotearoa is only the name for Northland. Ngai Tahu already have their tits in a tangle, as the name completely ignores the South Island. They have gone on record with their objection to that bastardisation of that name.

On my recent travels we must have asked 200-250 people, many who are travellers so have some idea of the big wide world and a few border people 'Have you ever heard of a place called Aotearoa?' Not a single soul had. Easily 80% of those who found out we were from NZ said 'Such a awesome place I have always wanted to go there'. 20% said 'We saw what 'Jacinda' (no one said Govt, they all named her which I found fascinating) did during covid, although we wanted too we will not be going there now', they were near exclusively from the UK/EU. 2 even had relatives in NZ who bailed out due to that cluster. Easily 50% of those who liked NZ thought it was in or by Europe, very few knew where it is.
The only single person to recognise 'Aotearoa' was a 30 something aussie dude. But it went a bit like this.
D1 and I at a beach bar on Ometepe Island in Lake Nicaragua working on our 'pretty drinks for pretty ladies' program, our code for cocktail afternoons as an hour is just too short  Heard a gawd awful load accent, Fuck me, Aussies. 4 late 20 early 30 dudes trying to crack on to some chicks where couldn't have been sending stronger 'not interested' signals.
I said to D1 Shhhh.... don't need them right now. A little bit later I was ordering more drinks and 2 heard me 'G'day mate, long way from home as well, where ya from' (in a gawd awful accent) I said 'Aotearoa'
One said 'never heard of it, where's that?' Before I could answer the other pipped up 'I've been there, it's a great little place an hour or 3 outside Darwin'
We nodded and they continued on.
Those 4 Aussie and a few days later a couple from Indonesia were the only people we saw from the Sth hemisphere the entire trip.
