Anyone contemplating getting goods delivered be aware that NZ Couriers service has gone off the rails. GO30 and I are currently swapping emails about a rope delivery to me that is taking its time and there is also a delivery from another supplier that finished up in Whangarei. An order from a 3rd supplier took 8 days from Mt Wellington to Mahurangi East, just a joke, and this is what the supplier has since advised Good to know that you have received them, have had more and more of this feedback from customers lately,
some even opting for delivery to NZC depot only then collecting themselves to avoid delays
Yet on the other hand on Monday morning I dropped a parcel at Warkworth NZ Post agent and it was delivered to Avondale Tuesday morning.

Not only couriers, almost all freight mobs are going slow but as they are to help their customers they have also raised their prices, some significantly.
Have RD in your address and you may as well send a snail to get your goodies.
3 years ago we got a container in 28-35 days for around 4K, the last one took 104 days and cost 17K.

NZ Couriers lost a couple of critical items I sent. Didn't even scan them in, but we not at the drop off point an hour after the courier had been through.
I've had no issues with the other courier. Is it Courier Post? One of them changed their name to something starting with A (aramex?) and it was just an abortion. Have the sold or re-branded again? I haven't seen one of those vans for a long time.

Fastway/aramax is based on customer pick ups,if your in area where your courier has no pick ups its a slow service as they dont get paid to deliver but paid on pick ups, looked at a franchise yrs ago and thats what I was advised, buy a area with lots of pick ups.Might of changed.

Latest update this morning from my call is that NZ Couriers have no farking idea where my deliveries are. Maybe in a bin somewhere in their North Harbour depot. To add insult to injury the girl on the phone tells me the "investigator" has a week to look into my "case". Obviously the concept of customer service is totally foreign to them these days.

NZ couriers in Manukau seem to be ok when I pick up,delivery hasnt been a issue YET! Now waiting on a mainfrieght to deliver my ali, could take 7 days from Albany to Papakura, the charge is far less than me picking up so happy to wait, non urgent.

waiting for an aramax pick-up from rural canterbury
package has been sitting in sellers back porch for 4 days after aramax site said it would be collected
seller will take it to their, still rural, depo tomorrow so he doesn't have to worry about it being stolen while he's at work

NZ Post advising everything in Auckland is on stop (pick ups and drop offs). Can't really blame them when there is flooding all over the place. Just wonder how long it will take to get going again. Couriers are fundamental for a massive chunk of the economy. Shame Labour didn't fix the roads instead of studying trams to the Airport and cycle bridges over the harbour. On the same link, they are also advising of clusterfucks all over the country. Whangarei is all on stop (flooding) no vehicle / truck movements to northland. No rural delivery for just about anywhere from Coromandal down to Hawkes Bay. I think that is from Jan / Feb and nothing to do with today. www.nzpost.co.nz/contact-support/domestic-delivery-updatesNetwork Disruption Last updated: 4:45pm 9 May 2023 This page is updated as the situation changes, which may not be daily. With the current Orange Weather Warnings for many parts of the country, we are witnessing high levels of rainfall and some localised flooding. As a result, pickups and delivery of all mail and parcels have been temporarily suspended in some areas of Auckland, Whangārei and Northland. There are possible delivery delays in affected areas: Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, Tasman-Marlborough and the West Coast. We will continue to monitor this and other potential related delays closely as it moves down the country. All efforts will be made to deliver items as and when it’s safe to do so. Unplanned processing delays last week in combination with resourcing constraints has led to delays of 1-2 working days countrywide including some Economy items for delivery in South Island destinations.

well my NZ Couriers saga continues. Finished up visiting their depot in Rosedale this afternoon (I was in the area on other business) to ask a real person where are my goods. The woman was quite helpful and said they are at the Warkworth depot and due for delivery tomorrow. I said fine, I will be in town at 7.00am (gym bound) and will pick them up - I hope. When I asked why couldn't I get this info from the call centre yesterday she did not have an answer.

Closed out my saga this morning. As planned went to NZ Couriers depot, where I was directed to Post (no) Haste, another Freightways subsidiary, who are (ir)responsible for Rural Deliveries. After alot of rummaging around found the packages at the back of the basket for my area. Asked the dude assisting me "how long have these been here?", their own records show GO30's item was delivered to their Warkworth depot 3 May, ie day after pick up and the other package 4 May after its detour to Whangarei. When I asked the dude when these would have been delivered if I had not shown up he did not have an answer. Just hopeless and no offer of compensation. They get a 2 star rating on Google and quite a few reviews say they would give zero stars if possible.

UPS isn't much better. Paid for 5-10 days delivery out of the US, 18 days later it's only made it to the LA post office.
Yes I have looked back and seen how slow things have been. We are making our Rep very aware of it and have asked senior management what 'Overnight by 9am' means in their world as in ours Overnight is not 96 hours long. As expected the reply was just twaddle bollocks, to pinch a great phrase from our Fishy mate.

almost all my stuff has arrived now
the old way to the consumers heart
"promise a little, deliver a lot"
seems to have now been chucked out the by the marketeers
who replaced it
"Promise a lot, deliver a little + blame the fine print and private contractors"
a subset of our political process really

so there is a sequel to my story, received a call from Brassfit, the company that sent me a package the same day as GO30. Caller asked if I had received my goods, I said yes and explained the saga. He said well that is interesting, they had received advice from NZ Couriers that the package had been lost, their tracking page showed the last scan being its side trip to Whangarei, and did they want to put in a claim for it. I advised not necessary but recommended they have a serious discussion with their NZ Couriers rep and look at using NZ Post who in my current experience are doing very well Just further reinforce the impression that NZ Couriers have lost the plot
