I painted my entire boat, inside and out, with a 2 pot water based paint. Awesome to work with and is standing up very well. BMW and most cars also use water based these days.
Mine was made in Avondale by Cotech.

Mix it well, by weight. Let is sit 10min then thin as required with clean fresh water, it is a wee 'WTF" the first time you do it as you can add more then you're used to with turps or thinners.
I then used one of those small 4" rollers for most of the boat inside. I sprayed the outside. I did not tip it off as it does not flash off like the usual 2 pot paints so it flows real sweet to a nice generally painting gear mark free finish.
Also as it does not flash off like the usual suspects you need to leave it long to touch dry and harden up.
I suppose you can use it in a pool but I think its designed more as a commercial paint. The Arena down by the water front is painted in the same stuff. I used the same paint from my bilges and waterline to the top of the mast. The only difference is the bilges I used a gloss where everywhere else is a satin..... to help cover the fact I used peel ply but didn't bog over that to save weight. It covered that very well.
Awesome down 1/4 berths as you don't need breathing gear.
