New dinghy (True Kit) ready for collection tomorrow.
But weekend weather not looking like an ideal time to test new electric outboard + dinghy pairing for the first time!

I've just seen photos of the new ePropulsion marketing director. She is very not ugly. They do have a very lady rich management, that's good to see.

Believe it or not I made my decision more based on the reviews and field testing performance but thanks for the heads-up! Take a look at this to get a feel for how far the tech has come notably into range / endurance: youtu.be/zBaYYcIxonM

Reviews I take with extreme caution having seen many being made and knowing the background behind them. Field testing is good as long as it is independent.
Buying just based on the salespersons appearance not so much but many do. As much as everyone says sexisum is bad etc everyone knows a hot chick can open doors you or I sure can't.

Step 1 complete (new dinghy inflated and lifted into place) Step 2: to do this w/e (try new ePropulsion outboard)… I’m literally feeling greener this morning (or maybe that’s the medium-rare chicken I ate last night) 😊

So the dinghy test went well and the outboard was a revelation - but the shaft length I have seems to be slightly too short for this dinghy (prone to cavitation) Luckily the dealer has got another customer who just did exactly the same as me but the other way around (bought the longer shaft version, tried it once and now wants shorter shaft). So we’ve agreed to swap legs. Lucky coincidence! Keep you posted when the setup is hopefully finalised.

Ok so got the new (10cm) longer leg and had a good chance to test it all over the weekend. Worked beautifully. It takes a while to adjust to the ‘no noise’ thing because I realised that engine note is a key audio cue especially when manoeuvring in close quarters and tweaking the speed. But after a while I started to get used to the feeling that if you’ve adjusted the twist grip throttle then something will change.
And being able to move between fwd / stopped / rev by simply twisting the throttle either side of the mid-point is great.
And I noticed that at the kind of speeds that I’m happy going I’ve got in the region of 3hrs endurance. If I go max throttle that reduces to 1hr 15min (which was giving me close to 6kts) but at 4kts I was getting 3-4hrs endurance which is way more than a 3hp petrol outboard internal tank.

6kts, that's pretty damn good. That speed could be handy next time you say something dumb to your missus I do Scotts Landing to the wharf in Walkworth, 4 up in a 7ft pram with 100mm of freeboard left using a 2hp Yammy on 1 tank of gas exactly. It takes 50-55 minutes. If anyone knows the distance work that out.
