…. at home not on the boat.
Firstly, apologies for the non-Covid thread.
Secondly, as some of you know I’ve got the DIY skills of a brick. So the prospect of mounting a big new TV on the living room wall and running cabling through the wall to it fills me with dread.
Anyone recommend a ‘TV mounter’ in Auckland?
I don’t even know what to search for - is this an electrical job or a builders job or both?!
See what I mean… 😊

I’ve got the same job to do as well , it’s been lingering since we renovated 3 years ago,, I’ve just deferred dong it. But now wife is banging on about it, I’ll have to act My carpentry type skills are poor, I’m a mechanic by trade.
As in the movie “ Taken” … good luck

I've been in the process of mounting the TV on the wall for about 2 and a half years now. Have 2 different brackets. One on the TV, another on the wall. Missed the stud by 1/2 a stud, minor job turned into a major (we are at risk of this precipitating redecorating the whole lounge). Can still watch the TV so its not particularly urgent.
Every now and then the missus starts on at me about finishing the kitchen reno (done up to the top of the bench) the month before my boy ways born (he is 7 in January), or, finishing the stairs of the deck - I can't see what is wrong with the concrete blocks and planks there - I nailed them down so the planks don't move around. They've been there near 10 years now, so clearly a durable solution. Perfectly functional...

Done a few of these and mounting is the easiest bit.
Typically Getting power and the antenna/ fibre cable too the TV is the hard bit.
A electrician is the go. He can run wires if needed and is capable of mounting to walls (*finding studs/nogs.)
A builder is not as skilled /experienced at running wires.
If the wires are right there then a TV arial installer is the man. ( Lower hourly rate)

You should stop watching porn, its not interactive, then you won't have to worry about mounting the tv.

Be careful not to get a rash and wear a condom Pretty much exactly what I though on seeing the subject as well but I also had electrocution
The key Mr Fogg is to hit those studs as the Fishy chap said, if not things maybe a little iffy.
