Looks like it may be a bit light this year. Light easterlies by the look.

They will announce if they'll move the start line on Tuesday I think. If they do it means no records for this year's race.
All racing in the harbour has been cancelled. I'm a bit perplexed as to why. "transport" across the harbour is permitted, just not swimming and food gathering. Still, the parking at Westhaven was fantastic last Wed night...

Not as much chatter as usual but a motherload more boats with hands out looking for help/support/sponsorship/other similar names
Yeah that harbour poohs thing is a WTF? Some races happen but the same club cans others as they aren't safe, buggered if I can work out the logic of that.

We are in Div 5 which is very competitive this year and as always elevation will be the boat to beat or follow .

New start looks like a big help, was going to be a upwind start which could get pretty messy with a big fleet.

Could be a quick ride, a good breeze up here and appears to be in a good direction. I shall suss direction more when I go up to the yards to get my 22 new lawn mowers.

No water activities within the harbour. Yet I have just finished reading a few fishing reports on how good a condition the snapper in from the inner harbour/wharves. frenzy takes on softbaits. Have asked the quetion on taste

Crap, that's not good. It's been blustery here so if the fleet had the same there could have been many stroppy booms etc. Taking a wild guess there it involved a boom obvioulsy

Have a look at the tracking of the boat which had the unfortunate accident, and you can see multiple gybes (6-7) taking place in the hour leading up to the tragedy. Other yachts around it during same time period weren/t gybing at all, Was something up with the steering sysytem causing boat to slew all over the course ? Seems odd, and then culminated with a nasty accident and death

Very sad outcome , RIP Can anyone give me a clue as to what track to look at? Division? Name of boat? (by PM if people don't want it public knowledge)
