You could hand stitch it back together. You'd need the right thread and a beast of a needle. Possibly a sail repair kit stuff. It's a tad specialised and if you aren't into stitching leather already may be a bit too much faffing. Possibly easier to take it to a shoe repair place that does leather shoes. Either that or a horse saddle / tack place. I've no idea where they might be. Ideally a leather craft type place. I know of someone on Kerikeri that does that kind of thing. The type of shoe shop I mean is the more artisan type. There is one in Milford that might be worth a try: John Roberts Shoe Repair 52 East Coast Road, Milford, Auckland 0620 09 410 7508

This place might be able to point you in the direction of someone that can do it. They supply or the materials you would need, including the appropriate sewing Awl. (Wooden handled thing with a beast of a needle on it). lapco.co.nz/leather-craft-and-care.htmlJust having a think about it, you may need to unstitch the whole thing so you can get to the back side of the stiches on the bit that has failed. Which in effect is a total rebuild. Is it worth a lot or can you get another one?

It was only about $50 so not worth too much faffing. But I don’t want to just buy an identical replacement cos I think the design is flawed. Luckily it fell off my belt when I was at home not on the boat. This is the design of my previous Leatheman pouch which is too small for my current tool. I really want another nice brown leather pouch but with more robust fasteners like this:

Good point.
Where’s GO30 when you need a competent stitcher-upper? I reckon he could do the honours with this!
I could ask a local sailmaker or fabric stitcher around GH but I suspect they will laugh at me and / or quote $800 and a 33 month waiting list.

That’s a nuts cheap price. Probably worth ordering just for shits & giggles…

Don't worry about Mitre 10 and Bunnings pricing, several months ago I purchased a lot of 20mm pressure pvc pipe and fittings from a supplier at the Mountit came to about $100 including freight. I was a couple of fitting short so I rock up to the local M10 nearly fell over with the price so compared to the original purchase $13.97 to $0.91 so I checked all the prices yes 700% more than from Irrigation Express.

That's a hell of a subject line to see an hour after talking to the vet about making some bulls into steers i.e removing leather pouches Good point. It was the IRD last time and that was so much fun.....opps wrong stitch
If the holes are there use those or have they torn out? If not just a good tread thru a big needle should do it.
Gotta love a good Awl. I'd be a little nervous about the strength of a Aliexpress but as a wee Ali fan I have had some very good stuff from it, a couple of shockers but most were pnts with not high expectations.
I'll have a crack at it if you like but my 1st thought was same as the Fishy chap, a Cobbler. There is Bruce the Cobber in Belmont, an ex Bank Manager, who does great work.
