3 men rescued by Westpac Rescue 1 from a yacht after declaring a mayday this morning.
Yacht was rolling around like a fucker in a big swell. No sails up. So the guys had to jump into the water and then be extracted by the winchman. Good video of the guys jumping overboard. Hard to tell from the heavily edited video, but it looked like they separated from the yacht and got a big distance away very quickly. I think I would feel just a little uneasy jumping overboard in a big swell way offshore, even if a rescue helo was already overhead.
No liferafts used. That is strange, cause people around here tell me you can't take a dump without a liferaft. Maybe they were wrong?
