Looking good for my weekend tank installation project, assuming my tractor arrives in time. The roof of the new barn is proving an excellent water catcher so I'm dropping 2 x 5,000lt tanks in to catch the over flow from the humans tanks. The new ones will feed a series of new troughs I'm putting in as I retire 3 smallish dams due to my new 'water garden'. Dams and ponds have terrible RC consent issues up our way, gardens don't  |

well, had a very pleasant weekend sitting at Moturekareka, surprised how few boats were around  as I am sure all the weather watchers here know mid week looks to be El Crapo  and Easter not looking much better with yet another low.  expectations of getting away for Easter are equally low  |

I don't know, I'm hoping for a settled period at least at the start of Easter, after Fili blows through.
What I have noticed, is that the Predict Wind forecasts have been showing at least 20 knts more than the regular forecasts. The morning update to Metservice only had 20 going to 30 for Huaraki Gulf Marine, then the 11 am update suddenly it was 40 gusting 55. It is like the cyclone has snuck up on MS while the rest of us have been tracking it for the last 7 days.
I know they have some policy of not putting severer weather warnings out till the day before, but they have looked seriously slow to pick up on this event.

I have decided Huey can be an arse today/tomorrow then use Thursday to get it's shit back together so I have a loverly weekend weather wise. I've got a plans which need 2 days of dry weather.
The big question is the ute or the flying armchair for todays commute? The ute is warm and dry, the flying armchair potential damn wet, but then the ute is the pussy call, means traffic and car drivers who are extra lethal in the wet. I think grab balls O'clock and jump on the Armchair.

Halfway between tutukaka and Whangarei heads . Wind has dropped again but rain is pretty solid but not extraordinary
