Never seen it blowing so hard through the marina here at GH. SW 40kts reading on my anemometer. Big waves in the marina and overtopping the breakwater 2hrs before high. My mainsail was coming unfurled out of the mast but the marina guys spotted it and furled it back in before any damage. Coincidentally I was on my way to the boat anyway. Have doubled up furling lines. 😳 Check you boats, ropes & sails people! This is not the right type of wind for wind-foiling... |

Whilst it’s blowing 56kts from the SW I see 2x boats out there. A cat motoring south into it (showing on AIS as “Ski”) snd a mono which seems to sailing under small headsail NE past GH towards the Tiri Chl… 😳

Surprised to see the GH ferry arrive from town too. I know it’s the big NE wind & swell that most easily cancels these guys but even so gusting 56kts from any direction ain’t comfortable underway or berthing. 😳

Had 35kts across Omaha Bay at 9.00am. Kept close to the shore for flat water |

Just checked the tracker and there is one boat in the “cruising” division which started at 11 this morning , just rounding cape colville now cracking along at 8.9 knots . No doubt with bugger all sail area too |

I know the A-T guys have been working very hard to find an alternative date to Easter, not clash with the Coastal, or any other major event, and to not have a race buggered up by Covid, but unfortunately, I'm starting to think right on the Autumn Equinox is not a good time either, due to the equinoxial gales...

thank goodness we finally had a nice weather weekend!! Loved it. Had some bloody big barnacles starting to appear on the hull

Had some bloody big barnacles starting to appear on the hull did not get out this weekend unfortunately, but next weekend is also looking good. Big question is how will Easter pan out? If it is looking good hope to take the 4 days off between Easter & ANZAC weekend as well (might involve a little WFB) |
