This morning due to a Wa bitching a bit too much about the bed we went to a place D1 and I discovered last week in Ruawai of all places, the 'Beds and More Outlet shop'. They make beds, bases, headboards etc and the shop/factories are 50% of Ruawai.
We wondered in last week, after a big bloody good breakfast at the Cafe across the road, Two Water I think it's call. 2 x Eggs Benny with big coffees etc, 36 odd bucks and bloody good. Anyway we wondered over the road to this very nothing looking building only to walk into a Tardis, it's huge inside. The lady in there knows her shit and knows it very well. The range is awesome with spring loaded and assorted foam loaded mattresses plus the hybrids.
So went in looking for a good mattress, which do cost a few bucks, and came out with a new mattress on one of them fancy bases you can make change shape, has USB ports for gawd knows what reason and even more bizarrely under base LED lighting, it looks like something from Fast and Furious
As the Wa is looking at it as our lifetime bed and to stop her bitching it is a no expense spared purchase.
It comes with -
- The mattress which is a hybrid memory foam with gel inserts which keeps it a bit cooler
- 2 new pillows, we went with fancy laminated with cooling foam again
- a set of 800 count sheets
- mattress protection cover thing
- the fancy in the fly adjustable base with twin remotes
- plus full install i.e.they will bring it to our place (this is going into the city dwelling) and fully set it up
- and it's all got a 15 year warrantee.
It is 90% made in Ruawai (from imported and local ingredients)
Cost, a WTF? just under 7K all up. We asked 'Are you sure?' to be told 'Totally, we're not in the city now you know'. We were expecting to pay around that just for a good mattress.
So massively highly impressed and reckon next time you're thinking of a bed load the car, drive to the bottom of the Brenderwyns, turn left onto SH12 and 35 mins of OK rad later you are there. Work on a 2 hour trip at a comfortable cruze with one pit stop for a pee.
Holy crap, I just sussed on their website to see the M40 Super King base we have coming is listed at 19K. The rate card on it also said that then was crossed out with 'Special'.
OK so if anything tweaks your interest give them a ring as the pricing in the shop was massively less than their website. I wonder why such a big difference, I must ask.
