chloe's hypocrisy is breathtaking "Green Party co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick says the Government is "terrified of accountability" as a minister refuses to front at the Waitangi Tribunal over repealing an Oranga Tamariki law.
However, ACT leader David Seymour said it's not the Waitangi Tribunal's role to tell the Government how to govern." www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2024/04/chl-e-swarbrick-says-government-terrified-of-accountability-as-children-s-minister-refuses-to-front-at-waitangi-tribunal.htmlthe coalitions she was in with labour removed accountability/targets whenever they found them difficult to achieve housing, heath, education etc until 4 years after jacinda's laughable 2019 'year of delivery' the public got sick of their lies, incompetency and waste and took away from them the job that they so clearly couldn't do "With the “Year of Delivery” winding down, some stock-taking would appear to be in order. Among political journalists, the stock-take is largely complete and the emerging consensus leans heavily towards the damning. They have decided that the Coalition Government is not only guilty of failing to deliver on its promises, but also – by failing so spectacularly – of exposing its naivety in promising to deliver anything of significance in the first place."
That the delivery has not been made: certainly not on the key promises of taxation, child poverty and affordable housing; is the unanimous verdict of the commentariat – Left, Right and Centre.
www.interest.co.nz/opinion/102826/chris-trotter-argues-jacinda-arderns-year-delivery-was-naivety-very-particular-kindwhat's chloe done, that the people of nz have to thank her for?what has she done for the people of centre auckland, her seat? are a couple of rainbow crossings worth the rising prices, crime and homelessness in her electorate? google chloe swarbrick achievements and the best you'll find is - winning the seat of auckland for the greens in 2020 - becoming co-leader of the greens in 2024 so with 5 years in a failing gov. under her belt it's clear she's be involved in more damage to the country than improvements do we need more inexperienced student activists demanding revolution? she should be terrified of accountability

So disappointingly, but maybe not surprising, National following Labour's practice of "jobs for the boys and girls", appointing Paula Bennett as Chair of Pharmac. She replaces Labour Party hack Steve Maharey. She has a BA in social policy, so is "imminently" qualified to oversee decisions on drugs and medicines thebfd.co.nz/2024/04/29/its-cronyism-pure-and-simple/excerpt I can’t think of a worse person to chair Pharmac but at least it ends her bid to be the next Mayor of Auckland. Paula Bennett is one of the nastiest people I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting in politics. Her behaviour towards a stressed MP, despite pleas to back off, were met with a chilling hardness I’ve never seen before. Just days later that MP tried to take his life. Cronyism is normally the sort of thing the left does really well, but this is just a shameless crony appointment from the Government.

Neither appear to have any transferable skills to chairing Pharmac. And that she left govt 6 years ago and couldn't land a descent job in the private sector, well, what does that say?

I seem to have found my way on to Act's mailing list ... I shouldn't have read this just before bed ...this would be the worst nightmare - Some Governments get a honeymoon from the media, others get an inflation hangover.
Tonight’s 1News Verian poll shows the latter, with all governing parties down, and Labour 30% , Green 14%, Māori 4% out in front of ACT 7%, National 36%, NZF 4%.
People are understandably upset about the cost of living, interest rates, and soft economy. We don’t just see that, we feel it.
Here’s the risk: If enough voters punish this Government for the inflation and debt of the last one, New Zealand will get the bad medicine back. By the time people finally realise it doesn’t work, it will be too late.
What’s become clear today is that Labour, who should be banished, could be back. And back with two very bad sidekicks.
Every day in Government, ACT is taking the necessary steps to clean up Labour's mess. And our team is working towards 2026 to make sure your voice and values are represented, but we can’t do it without you.

trump would be proud of this level of narcissistic entitlement and tortured logic “There will be a lot of people today looking for the $250 they were promised, only to find out the average household is getting a lot less than that while at the same time, rents will keep rocketing up,”
"Friend, will you donate some of your tax cuts to Labour?"
"That way, the tax cuts really can help create a better future for Aotearoa New Zealand - by getting Labour back into government."www.stuff.co.nz/politics/350297175/labour-asks-supporters-hand-over-tax-cuts-fund-election-bid

Apparently there are rumours and consideration that Willie Jackson will be the next Labour leader. My first thought was that they can't be serious, but then again, this is Labour and they could be serious. Deadly serious.

it's hard to imagine a more disastrous gov for nz than the 6 lost years under labour but seemingly a willie jackson led labour would be another firm step towards driving away investment and net-tax payers and so continuing down the path towards defaulting argentinian and cronyist venezuelan 'almost-failed' statehood even talking of a leftist cabal under willie will give nz workers that extra push to leave the country before the floodand overseas investment more reason to hold back from investing in a country that ties to tax its way to greatnessthe number of kiwis leaving would be the number to watch at least until such a coalition would direct stats nz to stop recording itor start lying about itas they did with crime stats etc last time aroundCurrently, many Venezuelan graduates seek a future abroad because of the country's troubled economy and heavy crime rate.
Over 1.35 million Venezuelan college graduates have left the country since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution.[311][312]
It is believed that nearly 12% of Venezuelans live abroad, ...., more than half of all medical graduates had left Venezuela in 2013.[361]
By 2018, over half of all Venezuelan children had dropped out of school

Come on put Willie in as the boss then grab the popcorn as the 2 separatist, sorry Maori parties scrap it out. Willie is not in the same camp as the cowboy and his muppet mates. I reckon it could be a great watch, bar the fact NZ's poor will pay for it all even more than they do now.
