Stats NZ is currently consulting on a revised process for the 2028 Census. Instead of issuing questionnaires as has been traditionally done, they now propose to trawl thru the archives of other government departments for your data and consolidate this into "the census". Not sure the legality of this but if you are concerned about privacy, and Stats NZ has already demonstrated that they are both incompetent and unable to maintain privacy. It is a real concern that the outcome is that all your data will be linked at one common point. If you wish to make a submission, and yes I know how much consultation feedback actually counts, here is the link closes 18 June 5.00pm

I don't care as long as I get my $100 PaknSave voucher this time. Oh, and get to declare myself as Maori so I can get all the preferential treatment and funding.
