But you’re overlooking the point that sometimes need the option to throw out the last govt’s policies on principle. That’s the point of a democracy which includes a healthy opposition function. The example I’d cite here in NZ is 3 Waters. I’m very glad the new govt threw out the policy on principle despite the money wasted by the last crowd. I didn’t want some kind of vague middle ground compromise. Except they have not completely thrown out all aspects of 3/5W, the Maori dominated regulator is still alive and well they have an overarching authority on all water supplies

Wai ora. Tangata ora.-
Healthy water. Healthy people.
I thought healthy people had warm houses, good food etc etc.

You can pull apart every election result but the bottom line is that the Conservatives got kicked out by a pissed off electorate. They lost it rather than Labour winning it. Concur. The same as happens here, we don't vote in we vote out and the survivors win the treasury benches near by default.
But unlike here the UK electorate seems to tolerate silliness a little more than we do as the mob getting booted were in for15 years I believe. For a party to last more than 9 in NZ before we boot their arse is very unusual.

Still nothing about earning money and saving, just how to take more from those who have.

I give them 12 mths after an overdose of wokey/PC/DEI/climate catastrophe driven policies for the buyers remorse to kick in. Do they really think Labour is going to do anything for the working/middle class.
well it looks like my prediction was a bit generous with "two tier Keir/Stasi Starmer" already showing his true colours and the electorate belatedly waking up from RCR Bites British PM Keir Starmer’s approval rating falls off a cliff Amid ongoing civil unrest in the UK over immigration and a resulting clampdown on free speech, an IPSOS poll found that British prime minister Keir Starmer’s net approval has fallen from +7 to zero. The poll also found that 52% of Brits thought the UK was heading in the wrong direction, compared to just 22% who said the country was on the road to success
Rowan Atkinson is one of the leaders of the growing movement pushing back against Starmer's intentions to restrict free speech and person freedoms, thereby imposing an unheard of tyranny on UK citizens

I had a mail from some English people we meet during our Central American trip last year. Meet them in a 'shuttle' heading to the Nicaraguan border, code for mini vans that do what our long haul buses do. During the trip they said how they were coming to NZ but then saw what Jacinda did to NZers so NZ got removed from their bucket list. They were gobsmacked someone could do that.
In the mail they say after all the shit going down in the UK and blatant crap 2Teir is up to they now know how NZers felt under Ardern. They come across a little frightened which is sad.
At the end they said NZ is back on the bucket list as long as I take them sailing for a few days. They also mentioned maybe moving here working on the once bitten twice shy theory i.e. we won't fall for a 2nd Jacinda. I told them that would make sense in a sensible world, something it currently isn't.
