Any here familiar with the waters around SW Spain eg Cadiz area? I spent a little bit of time there between Chipiona(Navy/airforce base) and Gibraltar. Love Cadiz and the Moroccan influence. Over a million swordfish pass thru the staits of Gibraltar every year an gather around Italy to Crete to spawn.. so a local told me Might be able to help. Zahora has a cute Baja California feel to it. Barbate felt weird but had a marina

Do you know what the boating is like out of Cadiz?
And how far can you get up river towards Seville?

I presume you mean the Guadalquivir next to Chipiona/ Bonanza.
From memory 6 years ago , Runabouts and small punts can do it but nothing with a mast or high bridge deck... To many low bridges
Seville is amazing as is up in the mountains around Ronda, hire a euro car. And drive .. awesome.

Oh and it has a good marina with everything you need and cheap food at the local alementeria ( lidl, Mercodona?).
Sailing around the area is ok if you want to sail to Morrocco, the Spanish islands,...
Not like the Greek islands, Croatia, southern france/western Italian coast though 🥴

Yeah looks like some big distances between harbours & anchorages. Looks more like motorboat coastline to me, especially for exploring some of the inland inlets and rivers eg getting up to Seville.
I used to own a place further east nearer Nerja and explored most of the Sierras between Ronda and Granada. But never been further west of Estepona so curious about Cadiz region. I also like idea of being closer to Portugal for a change of scene.

Bon Camino!... You'll remember the first few days in the boardwalk out by of Matsosinos. And crossing from Portugal to Spain on the little ferry. Bilboa to Santiago is another awesome coastal Camino. There's a fantastic old local train ride from Oviedo to Santiago that hugs the coast called the Feve. It is the best train ride in Spain... Maybe Europe
