Cindy and Robbie spent billions during Covid but made things worse, Key got value for money and economy showed it, paid debt off too, if you must compare disaster spending. So Key got two major disasters and the country grew, Cindy got one and destroyed us. That's how I see it anyway.

Eh ? My memory’s a bit foggy but I possibly remember almost everything being closed on a Saturday and Sunday during my childhood . That would be the Muldoon 70s and the Lange 80s . Saturday shopping at takapuna mall was a big leap forward and incredibly exciting …happened around the same time the Ross 780 and 930 et al went into production at hopwoods IRC ?

I completely concur and your method of timing is spot on.

Saturday trading was reintroduced in New Zealand in 1980 for the first time since 1945. In 1990 Sunday trading also became legal. nzhistory.govt.nz/media/photo/weekend-trading-protestBefore then late night shopping was Thursday or Friday depending on areas. Dairies could sell all small goods etc on Saturday but not onSunday,no bacon but could buy fish bait. I remember Sam Mason dairy by the mansonic hotel, with a wink and nudge he would sell small goods out the back door on Sundays,he raced a FF15(pinkie)on Saturdays Manufacturing worked till midday Saturdays. 7 day week shopping convenience but is it necessary? During 80s in parts of Aussie, shops opened Saturday but closed one day during the Monday to Friday period. Pubs were open 7 days a week but Sunday trading couldnt hire staff, had to publican or non paid faimily members Are we better off 7 day shopping or has this brought in the devise of some going in to major debt using visa etc You have $300 to spend on shopping when its gone its gone so me makes no diffence if spent thursday or Sunday theres no more. Why go in to debt? This 7 day week stuff has ruined childrens sport etc who rembers Friday night downtown Auckland where crowds would cross at crossings now could throw a bottle and hit no one, bottom end of town had Woolworths/Mckenzies,specailty shoe shops/record shops etcFarmers was the go to place in Hobson st,Deka, sign still standing in Huntly. www.atlasobscura.com/places/deka-sign

4 thousand an ounce - i'll be there with a 12 ton cat... I watched a 816kg pure Angus bull sell for $135,000 2 weeks ago and thought that was way up there but at 4K an ounce that's a 1.54 million dollar pussy.
Not to sure what to say next, either 'DO NOT piss it off' or 'She better be the best shag ever'

4 thousand an ounce - i'll be there with a 12 ton cat... Right about here is the entrance to one of the richest mines in the country. If you go to streetview you can see a little clump of gorse growing and the entrance not quite covered up. That was a nice looking bull, it would of had a good temperament too. Quite encouraging to see these buyers with such confidence in the industry. we've been buying some pretty respectable bulls from the Gisborne area for quite a while now at only? 6 or 7 k and the results are paying off via their calves

Buggered if I know how the old timers could look at a hill with rocks and say.Yep theres gold there. Well worth a visit to broken hils, old jail etc there, apparently was a thrieving small town. thecoromandel.com/explore/broken-hills

Good find Muzled! the pine trees on top of the cliff and the powerlines might cause issues on the second or third day of digging though.(we wouldn't need a resource consent would we?)
