A thread to post pictures of boats that "float your boat" for whatever reason, dream boat, lotto win boat, just cos you like the look of one. A few of mine Paine 54 - great for offshore cruising including high latitudes Cherubini 48, just because I like the Herreshroff look one of the Ultime trimarans, to sail on one for the thrill of the speeds they achieve Vripack NED 70, Yachtsman's motorboat

Nice, but to hard to get in board from a dingy. I like the big open transoms of the new era, but the build quality does not compare. Galley head room looks a bit dodgy

Continuing a theme of non-expensive boats that are here in NZ this caught my eye. Not only me use it’s a lot of body for the money, but because of a childhood dream. When I started sailing in 17ft boats around the Solent and Southampton water I literally dreamed of owning a Moody one day - which of course were built up at the Hamble. This is literally from my childhood era and never in my wildest dreams could I afford a 52ft Moody Carbineer. It’s obviously an acquired taste but one hell of a boat… www.trademe.co.nz/trade-me-motors/boats-marine/yachts/keeler/auction-3367299732.htm

Nice set up. I wonder if the neat tool kit below the wheel is/was standard or an addition?

Once again reinforces the message to live your dreams while you can.

Yes I noticed he used it a lot last season but that it has been little used this year.
I wonder if I’m detecting a slight softening in the market…. based on nothing more scientific than a walk past the Flagship Marine sales berths this morning which has a lot of big Rivs with “For Sale” signs up - whereas 3 months ago they all said “Sold”.
And a snippet on the radio this morning that said upwards pressure on house sales is softening as buyers show less enthusiasm for paying OTT.
Plus tighter lending rules.
Plus higher taxes.
Plus Covid uncertainty.
Plus…..

Keith was my first mate going to Tonga in 2019, could not have asked for a better crew member with his experience as an RYA instructor/examiner a real plus. He had plans to go offshore on Equilibre but lockdowns and other issues appear to have put paid to that. I read somewhere last week B & T had 15 houses on auction and not one sale
