More snouts in the trough... Isn't 'Colonial' just the new evil! Surely of all the public health services nuzld offers, Starship would be one of the most loved and well thought of. I've had two good friends that have had kids there and they can't say enough good things about it.
From today’s Herald: “Senior nurses appointed to Starship to address Māori health inequity”
“Two new nurse directors at Starship Child health will help address health inequity for Māori by championing Māori health and leading Te Tiriti across nursing,”. There is now a “nurse director tangata whenua” and a “nurse director tangata tiriti” to “ensure equal decision-making, mandate power sharing and ensure the interest of Māori communities are at the forefront.”
But “Te Tumu Whakarae o Starship (Māori health director) Toni Shepherd says that actualising equity through shared decision-making is well overdue.
“The colonial health structures of Aotearoa require radical transformation to dismantle the inequities prevalent in child Health.
“Co-directorship within child health is an opportunity to realise Te Tiriti in action and, ultimately, we need to re-imagine a child healthcare system that is mokopuna-centric, whānau-focused and whānau-led.””

But “Te Tumu Whakarae o Starship (Māori health director) Toni Shepherd says that actualising equity through shared decision-making is well overdue. Toni Shepherd is not a nurse, she is a psychotherapist and a few other qualifications. From her Linked In profile confirms there she has an agenda that is not for the common good Experienced Health Director with a demonstrated history (25 years) of working in the hospital & health care industry. Leading Te Tari Māori and Māori Health at Starship through health reforms and a global pandemic, Toni has forged important strategic relationships which include Māori movements such as the Kiingitanga. Her vision is to advance a mokopuna-ora kaupapa that will withstand the current systemic pressures and uplift the experience and outcomes of every mokopuna and their whānau that cross our waharoa.
Working with the Senior leadership team (Te Toka Tumai and Starship) and key stakeholders to implement Te Tiriti o Waitangi solutions, enable continuous quality improvement and propose social return on investment kaupapa with Ministry, Toni is tireless in her efforts to achieve great outcomes for child health within Aotearoa. Writing the first strategy for Starship in its 33 year history from an unapologetically matauranga Māori puna (spring), Toni is directing the transformation alongside more than 1800 kaimahi (staff) across 27 services and three sites .
Skilled in Matauranga Māori solutions for a modern world, Indigenous Rights, Strategic Planning, Relationship Management, Indigenous Education, People Leading and Regenerative practice, Toni has received three health awards for innovative, transformational and strategic practice.
Toni continues to focus on self improvement and skill acquisition, most recently completing an intensive Māori Health Leadership program with Digital Indigenous. Toni is a mokopuna of Aoraki, is pro-Māori and committed to equitable access, experience and outcomes for all children.

vote in both central + gov elections and vote for candidates that promise equality + democracy for all nz'ers then hold them to their promises the woke-left will try to redefine equality to mean ' equality of outcomes, regardless of inputs'and willy jackson is on record as saying that the widely accepted definition of democracy is inconsistent with his/their new interpretation of the treaty so we can have at best a 'limited democracy' that is subordinate to the maori elite so far ACT is the only party planning to ask nz'ers want they want ideally we need a written constitution entrenching equality for all new zealanders www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/willie-jackson-says-democracy-has-changed-co-governance-is-good-act-leader-is-a-hypocrite/VZZAIF66LH76WWEXUXUXAZQ3XA/

Contrary to the propaganda we are constantly being fed, the Treaty of Waitangi did not create a partnership between Māori and the Crown. There is no suggestion of a partnership in the text of the Treaty, nor in the speeches made by many chiefs at the time of the signing. Nor at the Kohimarama conference 20 years later. The so-called ‘partnership principle’ is a recent invention.NZCPR guest writer, retired Judge Anthony Willy, writes in his recent article Partnerships,“as to the notion of Partnership it was and is constitutionally impossible for the Crown to enter into a partnership with her subjects”.The partnership myth originated in the 1986 Maori Council case in which Justice Cook referred to the Treaty giving rise to a partnership between the Maori signatories and the British Crown. According to Judge Willy, Justice Cook was making up the law for which there was no legal precedent and trespassing on the role of Parliament the only institution in our democracy which could legislate for such a fundamental social upheaval. In a speech back in November 2000, the former Labour Party Prime Minister David Lange also rubbished the idea that the Treaty created a partnership. He explained that the Treaty of Waitangi was a contract between the Crown and Māori, not a partnershipwww.democracyaction.org.nz/the_partnership_myth_the_single_biggest_threat_to_our_democracy

It is to be hoped that Willie Jackson’s use of the past tense when describing the dramatic changes to the face of New Zealand democracy is inadvertent. It is certainly difficult to make a case for the will of the majority of New Zealanders being any easier to impose today than it was 30 years ago. The “tyranny of the majority” that Willie complains of finds no confirmation in our political history: neither in the Pakeha world, nor Te Ao Māori. The truly scary thought is that Willie sees the obstacles to achieving effective democratic majorities as a feature, not a bug, of our present system. If his idea of a new and improved New Zealand democracy is one in which, once again, the most determined minorities get to rule, then the change he is describing is not so much an uplifting electoral drama, as a political sucker-punch to the face.breakingviewsnz.blogspot.com/2022/07/chris-trotter-how-new-is-our-democracy.html

Bolger said the very term suggested a divided society and that a lack of clarity about Government policy was having a damaging effect.
Asked what his advice to Jacinda Ardern would be, he said: “Step up and tell us what you mean on co-governance. A very simple question.”
“The uncertainty is leading to huge anxiety and anger, sadly, anger as well. I don’t understand why the Prime Minister doesn’t stand up and one of her many press conferences and give clarity,” he said.
“Co-governance, I think, is an alien term to New Zealand because it suggests we are a divided society and somehow we are going to bring them together in something called co-governance.” www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/co-governance-policy-jim-bolgers-challenge-to-jacinda-ardern/T53SLA5JOFDF3CU6E5SKCVLSYA/

Dictators don't explain anything. There will be great joy and festivities in NZ upon her political demise. Like Mike Moore who could only get a job in NZ as a night watchman. Unless UN / WEF / IMF step up with the job we've all been seeking for her. BTW anyone want to consider the likelihood of them /her changing the flag and country name by decree in the dying embers of the maorification era as her reign comes to an end ?

I'll bet lefty, righty and the one eyed trouser snake that EVERY ONE OF THESE Maori initiatives will NOT PRODUCE THE RESULTS THEY THINK/ SAY THEY WILL!!!
WHY, You ask?... Because the more you do for Maori the less they do for themselves!.... It's proven time after time that every past idea has failed! Which is why we are where we are!
If a refugee can come here with nothing and receive less help than Maori, yet succeed, then it shows three things....
1. How dumb the " years of Maori support" is / has been.
2. how useless the Maori leadership, management, and direction is ..
3. That throwing money and dumb initiatives at Maori does not work!.... The best thing to do for Maori is Nothing. Let them operate in the sane system as the rest of the population and figure it out for themselves!

Or else making the bullets and getting someone else to fire them. Classic dictator tactic .She can throw that person under the bus if/when things turn to custard. As Grant Robertson is about to find out. Amongst others. Maybe the bimbo will re shuffle herself in cabinet reshuffle. Make herself Queen

apparently as the police can't guarantee her protection the pm won't be going to waitangi this year seemingly there are many many nz'ers who feel she has lied and cheated them of considerable rights! www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/16/new-zealand-set-to-cancel-jacinda-arderns-waitangi-day-bbq-amid-security-concerns of course she feels it's not her fault she couldn't honor her promises
and not her fault the 'most open and transparent gov'. ran a secret agenda to deeply change nz
...
thanks god we still are allowed meaningful elections! but the left-wing woke-elite have plans to change THAT!(left-wing woke elite = gov. employees on >$150,000? tax/rate-payer funded salaries who want to expand services and capture as much of the public money flood as they can for their projects and themselves) this is the new-kind-of-democracy they think they have snuck across the try-line
