No ! I won't have that . These people get very well paid ,nay overpaid in some cases, to do the job and that's their recognition. And when/if they stuff up they don't refund their pay. Lots of people who aren't in the limelight deserve recognition and they don't get highly paid either.I'd rather recognise people on the ground,in this case nurses . well said! Pre the PC woke days the people in his position would have taken the stage by themselves, without political interference, and lambasted Clark, Horse, Doom, and chippy for their stupidity, bullying, and lies. No sympathy for his well paid silence.

He's probably miffed that he saved the nation and doesn't even make the troughing list. He'll be replaced by a Maori lesbian with a limp in no time.... your list misses Alison Andrew at Transpower on ~$1.3M. Not bad for a monopoly supplier..

FFS . We pay these guys more for better outcomes. Have we got better outcomes?... Nope!. Have we got more costs, prices, and secrecy. Yarp! Most of them use advisors soooo why not just hire the advisors . I think that touches on a different issue much wider than just Bloomfield or even Health. Itโs a question of quality of leadership across NZ generally - from politicians & civil servants through to CEOs of NZX tiers 1s down to startups & entrepreneurs. In short, leadership in NZ in lacking across the board and we are seeing and feeling the effects of that. So if you donโt want to go insane you either have to: 1. Accept it - which means recalibrate your expectations (downwards) and be thankful whenever a half-decent leader pops up even if they are flawed or 2. Leave NZ Itโs a sad situation and one which makes me question whether to stay here and continue bringing up young children in such a โthat will doโ culture rather than an โexcellenceโ culture. We donโt really have any world-class companies born out of NZ just the occasional individual - and most of them have spent significant time overseas honing their skills. And despite pretending to be a first-world fully developed country, quite frankly we are not. We are still a developing country and our position near the bottom of the OECD tables reflect that.

And with all of that said, back to the matter of Bloomfieldโs performance, I would therefore say we got about as good as could have been expected and even though it was flawed it could have been much worse.
So be grateful for small mercies, is my thinking!

So, this new health structure, Labour are spinning the issue that Maori men die 7 years younger than non-Maori men, and they want to fix that. One of the easiest ways to do that, would be to shorten the life expectancy of non-Maori men. Problem solved. Can I have my bonus please, I met my KPI.

Even better I could extend Maori life expectancy by doing one thing...
Change your disgusting diets!
