Now do the police when apprehending these youths,contact the parents/guardians?? My way of thinking is these youth are committing for adults who may or have gang related affliation.Get the youth to commit the crime knowing full well they cant be touched. Now the police ned to look in to parents/guardian back grounds and if affiliated charge them with the offence that the youth are committing.

.forget human rights and just set up an offenders ID website that shows the offenders " mug shot" the list of crimes he has done, and give them a week in thier local community cleaning public toilets with a t shirt that reads " I'm a scum bag".... Then a week in stocks at the local mall .
Crime will be zero in 6 months .
Nobody likes to be name and shamed.

Evans shared the video of the incident with Stuff to highlight the “mindless violence” he was subjected to.
“It reiterates what a pointless crime it was. There was never going to be any reward for them.”
The incident happened during a 14-year-old’s week-long crime spree, which included burglaries, car thefts and assaults on other young people.
Police suspect he and at least two other children, aged 10 to 14, were in the vehicle that hit Evans on Centaurus Rd.
They have security footage of the trio with the stolen car elsewhere
Moments before Evans was hit, Zaneta Tumova was knocked off her bike on Centaurus Rd in what she also believed was a deliberate act.
The previous day, another cyclist was knocked off her bike in similar circumstances on Daniels Rd, Redwood. She suffered moderate injuries.

What is wrong with NZ, not like the country I grew up in where the policeman would give 6 laceholes of size 12 boots, then drag you back to your parents, then you got the belt from the old man, for bringing the family in to disrepute...1crime double the punishment.
