Wrong. National will have a majority! Either by itself, with act who will push for such change, or with Winny who will be told what to do. If it is with Act or Winnie, then that's not a majority. Two different parties will always have some differences, even within the same party we see disagreement. Sure if National do get to Govern on their own then anything goes. But I just don't reckon that's gonna happen.

It is a majority when all three agree on getting rid of the same labour non mandated dictates... Co gov, 3 waters, woke police commissioner, ....

Funny how the police and Labour cannot control crime, ram raids etc. 21 deaths holiday road toll 2022/2023 not surprised at that. As 5th Dec 2022 to 4th Jan 2023 I have travelled around central North island east and west over 5000kms and yet to see a speed camera van or a patrol car. Seen some bloody scary driving and the toll should be higher, what do double yellow lines on a bend mean again.Yeah thats right, overtake, right go like fuck around the truck on a left hand bend. If I cant see whats around the bend buggered if I know how they can. Caravans/boats.Hmm 90kph?? Nah lets do 110 down the express way,No biggie on a well set up trailer but single axle with weight not distributed correctly and see them swaying, can only end in tears but they seem to make it.
Driving on country roads with no rear lights seem to be theme,Well not not country rds but the state of HWY 2 might as well be.Around Lake Karipiro 100k rd should be 80 due to rut,but before then on a perfectly good pice they dropped it to 80 go figure. And whats with these swift type vehicles that must have lights on full beam?? As for those bloody light bars ,cars/trucks should be banned, sure light up the rd but they struggle to see on coming traffic, called a couple of toll trucks up,turn the fuckem bar off, response didnt see you.
On a side note took the trailer in to VTNZ ,yeah fail on rust and lights and a wheel bearing, fixed the rust and lights, wiped some grease around axle, vtnz jacked up trailer passed bearing.Got me buggered.

Agree on driving standards BUT....what would you expect ? License test doesn't include night driving,100 kph on open road, skid control etc. Instead answer a heap of questions in a classroom scenario, drive around town and prove you can operate it. Sent our kids to drive school with a skid control car. Cost a bit but they're 'good' drivers whatever that is. (Haven't had crash so far) Giving tickets for 51 is the sort of law enforcement that serves no purpose except to gather revenue and help with officer 2.7 tickets per hour quota. Seems cops only go for measurable incidents...like speeding, drinking alcohol ,no license, wof rego cellphone use etc. Like life jacket wearing the one fits all solution doesn't have universal success. IMO there should be far more emphasis on driver testing a la above ,jail unlicensed drivers and train them in there. NZ spends the $$ anyway just that at the moment the $$ get spent after the event ! BTW not just Labors fault but every government

Back in the days of morrie minors the steering ball joints would wear out, take the car home, wirebrush the ball joint to make it look new, bit of grease and back for the wof.

They have a speed fixation and it's the wrong one to have as speed is rarely the cause so their efforts, back when the Govt gave them money which they then spent money on doing shit not just expanding the Spin Dept, are misdirected. These days the Govt cancelled everything so they can spend the coin on bike bridges, trams and other such silly shit. They need to get away from the speed angle and get on to basic driving proficiency and making the roads fit for purpose.
We had a Aussie crowd visit us in rural yesterday. They couldn't believe how much smoother the gravel roads are, we are 20km from seal, than SH1 and 12 are. 1 and 12 are deteriorating by the day and the Govts only plan to deal with that appears to be making a road cone factory hell rich. We drive past the very same road cones today as we have been for the last 5 years, 5 fucking years and they are still there waiting for shit to be done.
The road toll is being added to by road quality or lack of it as much as it is by impatient drivers in cars that now come with many distractions installed, not to mention the growing number of 'tools' drivers can use to not drive at all. I went to Field Days with a mate and his new company wagon is tooled up so we did many km's of the trip without touching the brake or steering wheel. It was freaky as but also highlighted how those so called improvements will end up killing a lot of people.
Owning a NZ road making/repairing company must be easier and bigger money than drugs could ever be. Even the dumbest druggie demands a level of quality, unlike any NZ Govt Dept ever does.

Coming back from Otrohanga today, about 7.30. Roads slippery and only having about 4tonne on a 19m trailer took it easy.(80) Had a ute follow all the way from Otrohanga to the start of hwy 1 at Hamilton, plenty of opportunities to pass but no,catch up flash lights so I moved on to the shoulder but it stayed there, come to corner, carry on at 80 and the ute virtually stopped. Then puts footdown and catches up. Get in to Pirongia, move over slow to 30 so it could pass but sat behind me.Get to Whatawhata,70 ks,so slow down to 40 on the shoulder ,ute sat behind.Should I have stopped??yeah/nah. Get on the express way and ute planted foot and gone. Dale ITM Avondale on ute. So if you know ITM tell them guy is a wanker.Closing gap between him and I when someone else wanted to pass.
