so it looks like Nash has a record of breaching the cabinet manual www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2023/03/whoops_he_did_it_again.htmlAttorney General David Parker stepped in to reprimand former police minister Stuart Nash, years ago, after he made public comments about an ongoing police investigation. In 2020, Nash went on Newstalk ZB and commented about the investigation into the murder of police constable Matthew Hunt. Nash was the police minister at the time, but he lost that role in November 2020 – after he was warned about his commentary. He lost his job as police minister again on Wednesday, for making more comments about a trial on air. Asked on Wednesday if he knew of any similar incidents from Nash, Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said he received “assurances” from Nash it was a one-off.

drugged and drunk driver kills 4 kids accidentally when his ute mounts the footpath
pleads guilty to manslaughter
what would his sentence be in nz if he had a good chance at rehabilitation
and could maybe blame ADHD?
10 year sentence, out after 5?

What book would you recommend on the Sounds Murders? I'm after one that is factual, largely an account of what happened. Not a raving conspiracy theory, which would rule out anything by Ian Wishart. I tried reading his book on it, and just gave up. not a book but this strikes me as factual...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwLVo_lFzHA the last couple of minutes of it has me now looking up part 2

Thx Jim. That sounds a bit more plausible than the police case as presented in the transcript of the trial I read. Once again police have fitted up their "man" . Again I reiterate that from the transcript of the trial ,no bodies,no witness's it's difficult/impossible to say Watson is guilty. Not to say he didn't do it but the evidence just doesn't add up. Bad luck having a Wellington trial / jury

geee...
what happened at the end of 2017 that suddenly saw crims get the green light?
maybe labour should throw more ineffectual police ministers spouting reformist theory at nz's growing crime problem
saying it's a "complicated problem" seems to be labour short-hand for
"we don't know why our theories aren't working, but we'll double-down on them anyway while we continue to blame national"

Yes...and where's that bimbo that wanted us all to be kind, keep 'misunderstood' people out of jail, caused misery and suffering to thousands with her covid policies that were anything but kind, turfed millions of dollars to those perpetrating crime....and lots more. Oh that's right her tank is empty....but not her or her ilks' bank balances. Remember who and what caused this 'reset' when it comes to the election. Oh and any advice on who else to elect will be gratefully received !

seems the new police ministers main goal is to reduce the prison population reducing crime doesn't seem to be a priority She said there were opportunities in the area for "greater access to mental health support, drug and alcohol treatment, social housing, employment, closer working partnerships with iwi, and just being open to doing things differently"."This Government has set a bold target of reducing our prison population by 30% over the next 15 years. I undertake to do whatever is required of me to work towards that goal."www.1news.co.nz/2023/03/20/minister-of-police-who-is-ginny-andersen/maybe act/national can set a bold target of reducing crime in nz by 30% over the next 15 years and doing whatever required to work toward that goal
