what's more
they will go out and ticket a 1000 registered, warranted, licensed drivers, like you and i, for victimless crimes that were legal last week
to pay for; transport, accommodation and over-time, so police can stand in opotiki and ignore gang members breaking far more serious laws....
welcome to woke
dragging everyone, who stays, to the bottom
so the bottom doesn't feel so bad about the bad they do

Talking to the ACT party at field days and the lady said "David" has no interest in the Deputy or PM role if the form coalition with the "Nats" presuming they win of course. I responded"who can trust the bald headed penis"? thats when we departed company.

I think some criticism of our prison system is justified, Refer to the Bill English quote below. BUT there is a big difference between saying we need to improve our prison system, and just letting all the criminals out. Oh, and race has nothing to do with it. There is a major shortage of prison officers. These are the wombles that unlock the doors and watch the CCTV. Prison officers are the baseload workers in prisons. To set up situations where prisoners can sort their shit out and not repeat the same offences, you do need to give them some tools to deal with / avoid that. 1) drug addictions and treatment 2) mental health. This is such a big issue. Never talked about 3) really basic things like being able to read. If you can't read, you can't get a drivers licence. If you can't get a drivers licence you are evading the law from day one. If you can't get a drivers licence it is also fairly hard to get an honest job. Now I'm not one to modicoddle these criminals. There needs to be a determent and punishment for crime. That should be deprivation of liberty, not having to be recruited as a meth cook once you get out by your cell mates connections. Most of us are aware that prisons are just universities at how to be a better criminal. The govt could do a LOT more to resolve issues. This is completely different to just letting the prisoners out, as Kelvin Davis is doing now, and boasting about it. Bill English: "I agree with the words of Bill English that our prison system is a moral and fiscal failure," she said. "It costs New Zealanders far more in taxpayer money - we should put our efforts into making sure people never need to go there in the first place."

Ginny is not minister of justice, not minister of corrections. She is well out of line speaking out about that stuff. Her job is to make sure the police are enforcing the law.

They had been trying to steal a car from her Tamahere driveway when she confronted them and the situation turned violent just before 1am on Friday, June 16."They then pushed their way inside the house, stole the occupant’s handbag and assaulted her before fleeing the address in a station wagon," Inspector Andrea McBeth Area Commander Hamilton City said this afternoon.Police managed to get a "good description" of those allegedly involved."The three young people were located at a Riverlea address, and the vehicle located in the street. All three were arrested and the vehicle was recovered," McBeth said.www.1news.co.nz/2023/06/19/youths-bust-into-womans-home-assault-her-steal-handbag/i think it would be useful for the public to know how many times these youths have been arrested

And now a madman with an axe attacking diners in restaurants. This is a direct consequence of being kind and downstream crap. No gaol etc. At least in say South Africa you can carry a sidearm to defend yourself. In NZ it is forbidden to have a firearm for self defense. How the bloody hell did we end up with this mess? 50% decided to vote for a change...that's how. Proof that being careful what you wish for is true.

I'd take a punt this axe-in-the-restaurant incident is more a symptom of our failing mental health system than the failing criminal justice system. If is funny how when some violent act happens, and people find it the perpetrator was 'just' off his meds, that no-one seems to care. Imagine actually dealing with mental health properly?
