years ago i heard someone who knew a lot about dangerous breeds say that most owners fundamentally didn't understand them

he said something along the lines that they had a lot of 'wolf' in them, a lot of aggression

and that when they are brought into a family they quickly try to find out where they fit into the family....usually the very bottom, most junior member, like a pup would in a wolf pack

once they know where they are in the family/pack, they learn from the senior members who on the outside is acceptable, friends and family etc

sometime the owners then have a baby, and they spend more time fussing over the baby than they do the dog, this can make the dog feel insecure

it came first, it shouldn't be shunted aside by a new member of the family/pack

and if a dangerous breed gets the chance, it can kill the baby that has challenged its position, that has robbed it of the little attention it used to get

the dog knows it's wrong, and the alphas wouldn't permit it, so it will wait until they are gone, or distracted, before it rushes in to remove the threat to its position

....

i wonder if the elderly aunt that was killed by the dog had recently come to stay

and the dangerous dog was jealous of the respect the weak new member of the family was getting

and so it waited until the heads of the family were gone, and then it killed aunty, to remove the new challenger to its position in the family

normal dogs don't do it

but the bigger and more aggressive dogs that are otherwise not well looked after

ACt problem with crime and I can see no change in the near future,not this term anyway.

I would say he is already polishing his CV and casting around for a nice 'consultancy' job.
Oh yeah, all those consultancy jobs are getting axed...

The first thing the new Minster of Plods does, possibly with the Deputy PM, is get on a plane to El Salvador and ask their President how to deal with gangs.

Your average El Salvadoran could not use 30% of the country or cities as the gangs controlled them so enter and be killed, it was pretty much that simple. New President is elected (5 year one off term) on a platform of dealing to the gangs. He came in and less than a year later the gangs had been hammered and the general public got huge swathes of their country and cities back. I spoke to a 42 and 2 x 60 something guys in the Capital who had never seen most of their city as it was not safe to do so, it is now and the President is up there in the seat next to God in the populations eyes, he's got something like 85% approval rate. They, the general public, are calling for him to resign 6 months and 1 day before the election so he can stand again at the next one. Some rule says they must have at least 6 months between terms. Understandably the cleaning process was a little messy if you were a bad dude, be shot dead or put in jail are the only 2 options, but for the general public it was very fast and clean.
