That's pretty awesome news! National Party MP Maureen Pugh has come around to accepting that humans are contributing to climate change after talking with her boss, leader Christopher Luxon. In a statement, Pugh now admits that she accepts the scientific consensus that climate change is real and that it plays a role in extreme weather like Cyclone Gabrielle. Earlier, she was asked about the impact of climate change on the recent cyclones that hit New Zealand and said she was "waiting on the evidence" to see the extent of human influence. But now, she's taking a 180 and owning up to her statement that there is no dispute - climate change is real, and humans are a factor. This is definitely a positive development, as it shows that even politicians who were previously skeptical or unsure about climate change can change their minds with the right information and discussion. It's important for our leaders to understand the science behind climate change and take action to mitigate its effects, and this shift in Pugh's position is a step in the right direction. It's also great to see that Luxon is taking an active role in educating his party members on climate change, and has even offered Pugh a set of books to read to help her understand why they're so committed to the issue. It's encouraging to see politicians on both sides of the aisle come together to address this critical issue, and hopefully this will lead to more action being taken to protect our planet.

The biggest elephant in the room is that any NZ does it willn't affect the outcome what ever it is.
All it is is just a big waste of money to tickle some pollies backsides.

The biggest elephant in the room is that any NZ does it willn't affect the outcome what ever it is. All it is is just a big waste of money to tickle some pollies backsides. Your statement seems to express a feeling of frustration and hopelessness regarding New Zealand's impact on the issue of climate change. It's true that New Zealand is a relatively small country in terms of population and economy compared to other global players, but that doesn't mean that its actions are insignificant. Every country has a role to play in addressing climate change, and small actions can have a big impact when they are combined with the efforts of other nations. For example, New Zealand has set an ambitious goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, which demonstrates a commitment to taking action on climate change. Furthermore, New Zealand's actions can serve as an example for other countries to follow. By taking a leadership role and implementing successful policies and practices, New Zealand can inspire other nations to take similar actions to combat climate change. Ultimately, it's important to remember that the fight against climate change is a collective effort, and every individual and nation has a part to play. By working together, we can make a significant impact in reducing the effects of climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

Maureen Pugh has just been reigned in by the party machine. Her earlier statements ,sensible and considered were changed just a few hours later. Draw your own conclusions. Luxon is just another pawn in the Leftie agenda and apparently is unaware.

Ultimately it is all about control. Look at the planned trial of the 15 minute city in Oxford, UK. Residents will only be able to leave their "district" by vehicle 100 times a year. Monitored by CTV. No doubt once implemented the 100 days will gradually be reduced. The new WEF aligned PM is also a big fan of digital ID. A very blesk dystopian future to look forward to if people don't stand up to this crap.

Either you missed the conversation or you're just choosing to ignore the facts, failing to think critically nor do any research on your own. Oxfordshire has approved a plan to put “traffic filters” on some main roads, restricting drivers’ access during daytime hours and freeing up space for buses, cyclists and pedestrians. The “traffic filters” are license plate recognition cameras, not physical barriers. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., drivers in private cars will be automatically fined if they cross through the filters without a permit. Motorists who live in Oxford will be able to apply for 100 permits to drive through the filters per year. Drivers who lack a permit will also still be able to access all of the city without being fined. They will just need to use a different route or drive through the ring road to avoid the traffic filters.

There was a pier reviewed study out if Aussie relased only a week or so back that shows quite clearly where the Akl flooding came from and it also said due to the same reason the chaces of bigger weather events, based around large amounts of rain, is very elavated over the next shortish term. It is the Southern tropical zone specific. Did it make MSM? Nope. Why? It contradicts the narrative. End result, the millions, if not billions, just like me see politicians saying one thing science* saying another leading us the think 'So who is bullshiting and who is telling us tge truth?'. * - I use the term science in the exact same way the alarmists do, in a marketting sense i.e 100% of science thinks exactly the same, which we all know is simply not true.

Sounds very democratic... And he insisted the controversial plan would go ahead whether people liked it or not. ROAD blocks stopping most motorists from driving through Oxford city centre will divide the city into six "15 minute" neighbourhoods, a county council travel chief has said. People can drive freely around their own neighbourhood and can apply for a permit to drive through the filters, and into other neighbourhoods, for up to 100 days per year. This equates to an average of two days per week. A maximum of three permits a household will be allowed where there are several adults with cars registered to the address. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/23073992.traffic-filters-will-divide-city-15-minute-neighbourhoods/

It's not the same thing. Your version claims residents will be locked in there district unable to travel. The actual facts are that six inner city roads will be restricted to essential traffic only due to congestion and residents will need to use a different route. Edit It's not even essential traffic only... private mopeds and motorbikes will be unrestricted. They are only restricting cars at 6 specific locations.

It never takes long for the minister of truth to arrive to put the government approved spin on it and try to convince everyone that communism is actually a really good thing and anyone that disagrees has been influenced by misinformation 👍

The filters will not apply. I guess the motorbike manufacturers paid the the appropriate bribes.

Power and control takes many forms. Who is doing what to who. Why ? If the good citizens of Oxfordshire want to sit in a traffic jam...so what ? It's another social engineering experiment. Just like NZ is/has been. Like electronic banking covid lockdowns.,cc legislation. Governments now follow communist paths where it's government OF the people. For the benefit of the ruling elite. Full stop. Look at Oz. Dopeys closing coal fired electricity plants with no replacement generators. Watch and see what happens to them when Liddell closes in April. Plus they then knock them over leaving no power.

If I want to build an apartment block that doesn't meet the building code then so what? Why do I need a passport to travel? Why do foreigners need visas to live and work in NZ! It's communism governments controlling what I can and can't do. And how fucken dare Auckland Council put these T2 lanes in! Communism control freaks stopping me driving where I want.
