Edwards suggests Dr Kerekere wants the Greens to focus less on the environment and more on ethnicity, gender and rainbow issues.
"I think that is the big question for the Greens at the moment. Do they want to go down that track or more on the James Shaw track of being around the environment," Edwards said.
"That's the split that's kind of opening up at the moment."
When asked by O'Keefe if the Greens have an identity crisis, Edwards said he believes they do.
"The green brand is incredibly strong and that's why I think most people vote for them, but increasingly they've got activists, MPs that are more I think, focused on those different issues around the rainbow issues, ethnicity, decolonisation issues and I'm not sure that's why 10 percent of society wants to vote for the Greens," he said.
"We will see if that's the popular move, but they have lost their core sort of environmental branding if you like."
even though Edwards believes Dr Kerekere has been a "star", he thinks this could see her "pushed out" of the party.
"The Green Party have put out the interim draft list rankings, putting her at number four, which is a big jump, but now this has been quite embarrassing," Edwards told AM Early.
"I think we'll see a likely drop."

"Elizabeth has a tendency to call people 'racist' if they disagree with her," the source said. "People walk on eggshells around her."
The source said people had not spoken out before now because they were concerned about the reaction from Kerekere and her supporters within the wider party.
"They don't want to bear the brunt of her wrath... I absolutely cannot stand bullying and bad behaviour... it needs to be dealt with."
The source said Kerekere had poor relationships with multiple staff and MPs, but that she had particular enmity for Swarbrick.
"She would often make off-hand comments in front of others that Chlöe was entitled and a drama queen," the source told RNZ.
Swarbrick declined RNZ's request for comment.
One member described Kerekere as "not a team player" and said she would openly shoot down or dismiss Swarbrick's contributions during caucus meetings.
"She has been awful to Chlöe... she makes people feel like s**t."
That member said Kerekere's behaviour was "distressing" for staff, while another source said parliamentary staffers would actively avoid her at work.
Yet another individual told RNZ that Kerekere's bad behaviour was extensive and ongoing.www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2023/04/green-party-sources-accuse-mp-elizabeth-kerekere-of-bullying.html

It's awesome watching the gangrenes self destruct, long may it last. If they keep up the good work they'll end up with less than 5% and I'll laugh until the next election.

kerekere to walk from the greens? looks like she'd be a natural fit in the maori party A Māori member of the Greens and active role-holder said they were compelled to speak out after seeing some of Kerekere's defenders suggest the MP was being targeted due to her race.
"The bullying that I have witnessed from Elizabeth Kerekere has mainly been targeted at young Māori," the member said.
The member gave the example of a volunteer meeting where Kerekere loudly complained about some young Māori who were not in attendance and heaped scorn on them.
"She belittled them, was dismissive, and blamed them for not having enough time to give to her."
Kerekere considered herself the party's authority on all Māori and Pasifika matters, and she frequently "lashed out" at those who challenged her, the member said.www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/488574/more-green-members-criticise-kerekere-say-bullying-targeted-maori-pasifika

Jeesus, Kerekere sounds like a right piece of work! But just to add on to the nastiness she's legally fighting what sounds like a fishing ban because of her vested interests in a commercial company. This candidate, as the CEO of a Māori Trust Board, went to the Environment Court to stop Te Uri O Hikihiki, a hapu of Ngatiwai, using the RMA to protect life in the sea in their own area (just south of the Bay of Islands) and allow recovery.
The Trust Board took this position to defend the value of the Board’s fishing quota, which is controlled through their company.thedailyblog.co.nz/2023/04/24/special-report-the-problem-with-using-identity-as-the-only-lens-for-the-green-party-list-selection/The new constitution adopted by the party in 2022, expanded the guidelines for selecting candidates whilst allocating voting rights to previously informal interest group networks. One effect of this has been to de-prioritise talent, effectiveness and electoral appeal in the list-ranking process in favour of a kind of horse trading over how to fit in the right quota of geography, ethnicity, ability, youth & gender into the various positions on the list.
It is this new network that a far more puritanical woke clique have seized upon and manipulated to ensure their identity candidates have most influence.
As difficult as this is to write, the far more puritanical woke clique consider Marama as not woke enough!
Let that sink in. They want Dr Kerekere and Riccardo as the new leadership team where as I think that is a disaster of an idea and would make the Greens a 3% Party.I'm tempted to join the party so I can vote for these two to become leaders while I sit back with a huuuuuge tub of popcorn

My mate, who is a Green party member and former candidate, said the best thing for the party was Shaw getting dropped at the AGM. All the centrists re-joined the party to balance out the extremists, so Shaw got his old job back. All you have to do is pay your money, and you can vote for the individuals on the Green list, and vote for the leaders. Trying to discuss politics with my mate is a nonsense. He thinks the rabbid pine plantations is terrible, and thinks Shaw doesn't like it either (the guy that made it happen) He and his missus were gutted when Marama got elected leader... But they are still members, and plan to vote for them. I've been having great debates with him about climate change and adaption. I think trying to change the weather is futile and we need to adapt. He agrees we can't change the weather in our lifetime, but then still thinks we should try, i.e. by taxing cow farts (but, he loves a good steak) I'm actually trying to convince him to vote ACT, but he doesn't like Symore (doesn't know half of his policies though). He did agree National's policies on renewables was brilliant (dropping all the RMA issues so wind and solar can go ahead immediately) but still wants to vote for the party that will block National and fuck around with anti-women riots...

I've come to the conclusion the Greens are NZ's biggest bludgers, but only as they trained me to do so.

she fashionably liked 'natural' products
leather not vinyl, duck-down eiderdowns not synth fibre
i asked if she thought the cows and ducks gave up their skin and feathers voluntarily?
pointed out that the thinking greenie would prefer synthetic
she says i don't understand....
calls herself a vegetarian but eats; fish, chicken, mince and the occasional steak
CHICKEN'S NOT A VEGETABLE

So the 'Green Left Network' (all 10 of them) have voted to keep Kerekere high on the list. I'm stocking up on popcorn, if (and it's a big if) Swarbrick loses her seat in the election I reckon they'll go under 5%. I also reckon if that happens noise control will get called to my place because I'll be laughing so fucking loud it'll be deafening... thedailyblog.co.nz/2023/05/02/the-true-madness-of-the-green-woke-clique-exposed/No one believed for one second that a woke clique, (who see Marama as not woke enough), would be so fucking stupid to try some amateur House of Cards political machinations.
Well, here comes the truth…
Left wing Greens endorse Elizabeth Kerekere, despite investigation
Green MP Elizabeth Kerekere’s standing has been bolstered by the endorsement of a group of left wing members of the Green Party.
The GreenLeft Network (GLN), an organisation of members on the left of the party, has endorsed Kerekere as a preferred candidate in the party’s list ranking process, effectively calling on members to rank her highly. The endorsement was included in an email to members, obtained by the Herald.
…let me be as clear as I can be.
The GreenLeft Network wouldn’t know the meaning of the words, ‘Green’, ‘Left’ or ‘Network’.
It was a Bay of Vegan Pigs!
These same fucking amateurs are the ones behind the woke clique who have been playing these bullshit games.
So how crazy are they?
Candidates endorsed by The GreenLeft Network.
Dr Elizabeth Kerekere;
Teanau Tuiono;
Ricardo Menéndez March;
Lawrence Xu-nan;
Francisco Hernandez;
Stephanie Rodgers;
Suveen Sanis Walgampola;
Gina Dao-McLay;
Reina Tuai Penney;
Nick Ratcliffe.
Folks, that’s not a fucking candidate list, that’s a journey of the damned into madness!
Any list that has Stephanie Rodgers in the top 10 is a mental illness, not a political statement.
Normally I wouldn’t give two shits about watching these fools destroy a Party I love, but with the election around the corner, their fuck up could destroy any chance of the Left holding onto the Government.thedailyblog.co.nz/2023/05/02/is-it-game-over-for-the-greens/www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2023/05/marxist_greens_still_support_kerekere.htmlThe Herald reports: Green MP Elizabeth Kerekere's standing has been bolstered by the endorsement of a group of left wing members of the Green Party.
The GreenLeft Network (GLN), an organisation of members on the left of the party, has endorsed Kerekere as a preferred candidate in the party's list ranking process, effectively calling on members to rank her highly. The endorsement was included in an email to members, obtained by the Herald.
The left faction of the greens are the ones who think Pol Pot was a centrist. Candidates' position on that list will determine whether they are likely to make it into Parliament after the election. The GLN has endorsed 10 candidates, including three sitting MPs, Kerekere, Teanau Tuiono, and Ricardo Menéndez March.
So Chloe and Marama are not left enough for the Marxist faction. I guess that is a point in their favour.

I like asking Vegos why and when one say they don't like killing animals I ask then then why do you enjoy cutting the head off a lettuce. Most responses are fun, the odd one sad.

Kerekeri resigns from greens, to resign from parliament at election I wonder if she can actually stay on as an MP, she one of the freeloading list MP's so are there at the party's pleasure, not the electorate.
