Well this just got interesting with Molloy withdrawing his candidacy on the basis of polling poorly. From the Ferald As Cam Slater says, Viv Beck, who also has no hope with polling numbers dropping should also withdraw her candidacy to prevent the centre right vote being diluted thebfd.co.nz/2022/08/13/leos-quit-can-someone-tell-viv-beck-to-quit-too-please-now/That then leaves Craig Lord who is also not polling well, so notwithstanding my view that he is quite a decent guy, should also stand aside to make this a true 2 horse race and give Auckland the chance to free itself of the shackles of another big spending wokey Labour mayoralty. Wayne Brown certainly has a track record of achievement, altho it appears to be a bit on the modus operandi of "crash thru" or "crash". No question the councli well and truly needs a shakeup so someone who will bust a few heads is probably the only answer. First head to crack is the Council CEO, Jim Stabback. He like his predecessor Stephen Town (who has gone onto completely screw up the "new improved" centralised polytech system) believe they are not answerable to councillors or ratepayers. Same with all the board members and CEO's of the CCO's Does he even live in Auckland? I seem to recall (might be wrong on this) that when he was chair of the Auckland DHB he insisted on being flown by helicopter from his far north home to Auckland for meetings because he said his time was too valuable to waste driving. Bit of history here www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/wayne-brown-riding-the-waves-of-a-health-storm/32JGNABXOKTQLDMPM55SDQS4XE/

Wayne Brown telling it like it is thebfd.co.nz/2022/10/03/a-good-reason-to-vote-for-wayne-brown/hope you guys have all got your votes in. If you want to keep Collins out Brown is the only (with some misgivings) option. Local councillor Greg Sayer is the only option for me, he has done a good job of standing up to Goff's bullying

I literally could not be less interested in this. It’s obvious to me that the system is buggered and the individual makes no difference. The whole mayoral election is a hollow & futile exercise to pretend democracy is still in place.

What was the great saying (only the statement not the person)out of the States........"drain the swamp"

people electing the "drain the swampers" etc is the natural result of increasing amounts of lobbying and spin doctoring
the progressives, like the leftists before them, aren't interested in a democracy that does what the majority of the people want
they are only interested in a compliant population that rubber stamps their chosen direction
they all agree they are smarter and more moral than the hoi polloi so we should just do what we're told and thank them for their brilliance....I want to throw up

Businessman and centre-right candidate Wayne Brown has won the race to become Auckland's new mayor, with a 50,000 vote advantage in partial results.
will the centre-leftists in council accept that the centre-right has won?
will the centre-leftists in wellington?
or will they now go behind our backs to double-down on their doublespeak to increase the brainwashing and try and corrupt 1 person 1 vote even more with their desire to install more seats for racial minorities
leading to even more disillusionment about the democratic process in nz
democratic civil society is the achievement of our age
incredibly difficult to build
oh so simple to destroy
,,,,
good to see nelson elected nick smith, can see him doing very well
but wellington? yeah, nah, can't see she has the experience to make difficult decisions about spending and imagine she'll always be asking the rest of the country's' tax-payers for bail-outs
she might find that hard 2024

This is fucking halarious. Woke Wellington are going to find out what a disaster woke is... Selecting a Mayor based on the Green party rules, not on anything useful. Tory Whanau has claimed the Wellington mayoralty, becoming the first indigenous woman to lead the capital city. Whanau was the top Green Party staffer from 2017 to 2021, where she acted as an adviser to both co-leaders and played a key negotiation role with Labour and NZ First during the coalition government. PS, glad Brown got in Auckland. Bring on the war on the Elite Bureaucracy. I'll bet anyone a good bottle of whisky both the Bureaucracy and the Legacy media will make as much mischief as possible over the next three years. I think Collins campaign suffered BECAUSE he was endorsed by the Greens AND Labour. I didn't even bother reading his policies after I saw him posing for a photo with Adern. www.stuff.co.nz/national/130112953/im-going-to-be-the-mayor-mum-the-moment-tory-whanau-finds-out-she-has-won-the-wellington-mayoralty

Browns first statement was " fuck of Ardern / Labour out of local body politics"! Wellington apparently only had 50,000 voters of which 24,000 idiot greenie/leftie/woke/ government workers voted with thier vaginas/ limp cock's. The rest of the country nay be going 🖕' fuck you Ardern" right of centre 🤙.... Wellington is a cot case and will be screwed over by " the Whanau "
