So over 3 yrs we need to borrow 14.9b to pay tax cut/landlord rebates. As has been said before several times, land lords are not getting tax cuts, they like any other business, are again allowed to claim as an expense the cost of interest if they are paying off a loan. I have a rental property that has the mortgage paid off, hence no deduction. You keep forgetting that the last Labour governments were splashing taxpayer money around like a drunken sailor on shore leave and now we are having to pay for that recklessness. Alot of the infrastructure projects the coalition government are now advancing were on the drawing board in 2017 but were cancelled by the Labour/Green/NZF government. Now they will cost 2 - 3 x what they were going to thanks to the delay in their commencement.

But its cheaper to build ferries/roads/ak tunnel etc now than what it will be in 10/20yrs time, dont delay and bite the bullet and start building now. Remember projects that Mayor Robbie wanted done. Now its biting councils in the assets.
Landlord rebates are not really a concern, they providing a service
But tax cuts we dont need, some will argue about it but better to spend on infrastucture than to borrow than please a few or Nicolas case save herself from falling on her sword, shouldnt of promised them before being elected like so many other things they promised, its nice to have but not necessary.
Just look at the nurses situation,400?? coming online yet the hospital board lady saying no vaccancies yet Shane claims theres jobs for them,
Unemployed need to check in every 6 months why not every 6 weeks like back in early 80s

Indeed, and as I said we would be in a much better position if the last governments had not cancelled alot of projects. However in the case of the ferries it is a matter of buying the right ferries, and those rail carriage carrying ferries KiwiRail was intending to buy were definitely not the right solution You keep talking about these "landlord rebates", please elaborate on them so i can claim some
We have not received any tax "cuts", there has been a small reduction in the increased taxes we are paying due to inflation, look up the meaning of "Fiscal Drag"
Could not agree more!

Takanini to Drury motorway has been closed every night now for a fortnight. Come back up in daylight and see no progress, apart from a island on Beach Rd that stops traffic turning to go south but that does warrant north/south closures.

Well the road workers( management ) did a wonderful job last night. A 5yr old might of done better,M/W closed north n South .Drury to Takanini. No issue??Well yes there is because trucks using the Papakura ht bypass couldnt use because it was being resealed,we were sent down side st with cars parked both sides and only just enough room to get down let alone a ht coming the opposite way,end up at around about and have to go around wrong way as you cannot turn a ht without going over the top of it and damaging the axles as they pass over it.
Foe those who know the area we went up wood st to the roundabout by the courthouse on Gt south rd.

Inter islander parked tonight till thursday morning due to weather.Blue bridge to carry on unless notified. I think it is very odd that Interislander get wall to wall MSM coverage if someone sneezes, and Bluebridge don't ever get mentioned, but just continue shifting people and freight across the straight without drama...

Blue Bridge just put halt on sailings Nah, can't have. It's not plastered all over every news site on the interweb. MSM haven't picked it up, so I reckon it's just a conspiracy theory, I mean, why would MSM plaster Interislander all over everything when they cancel sailings but not Bluebridge for the exact same thing?

How much has it cost too run 1/10/100kms of cheese cuter wire along our highways? Constanly being repaired so whats that cost?Sure it maybe saving lives but if you cant stay in your lane or your side of the road, maybe their licence needs to be revoked.
