I just got a second form in the mail today too. Haven't opened either so not sure about the code.. Same 2 forms. So Iām going to fill it in twice using both codes. Just because. š |

Haven't filled one out for 30 something years. Why would you ? They know all about me / us anyway. I can absolutely guarantee that the info is not used for our benefit. In fact it's used to my detriment being a white, anglo saxon ,atheist, lower socio economic male. Plus the nosy bastards reading it will do god knows what with the info. Hitler tracked down Jews from the census forms

they gave me 3 goes some years back as I kept listing my religion as Sailing. I did do it every sunday just like them god bothering types.  |

they gave me 3 goes some years back as I kept listing my religion as Sailing. I did do it every sunday just like them god bothering types. Do they still list Jedi as one of the options under religion, or do you have to tick 'other' and fill it out yourself? I used to be very serious about the census. Have used mesh grid population data for work. But since it looks like I'm the only one to get two census forms I'm feeling seriously discriminated against, so I might have some fun with this one. |

Jedi is a 100% valid responce, as is sailing, as would be KFC.
In my scrap I got the Collins and Oxford Dictionaries to define what 'religion' means. Basically the worship of an object or deity. Neither said it had to have a Jesus, Mohammed, budda, whatever.
I did enjoy rubbing that in Stats face.

Woohoo - got my first envelope today.
If you missed out and want more codes, so you can commit fraud fucking with the system, then you can get them online. Infact you can get as many as you want.
Of course if you want to actually contribute to society then you'll only complete the census once.

it's very hard to decipher the truth from the little they have said, some of which appears to be wrong and the lot they haven't said
but my current reading is they sent out the first census forms 3? weeks ago and told everyone they had to fill them out on or before march 7?th
then about a week later someone got worried about not enough people filling them out immediately online
so started sending out reminders to about half? the population
that's when it got confusing
do we use the 1st number, in feb? do we use the 2nd number in march?
anyway the main message seems to be
use any number, anytime but only use 1
in a few weeks time i guess the door knockers will be sent out to known non-responders

With all the comms specialists in the govt, you would have thought someone would have told Stats to put the date on the front of the envelope. This is the first time I've heard any mention of the date of census day. People must assume everyone opens ever piece of mail they get AND read it straight away. My mail normally sits in a corner of the kitchen for a couple of months, then we throw it out. Anyone I want to talk to uses SM now, not mail, its either bills or someone telling me my car needs a warrant of fitness. |

Anyway I told lady I wouldn't fill in the form ,she asked why, so I told her. She agreed with most of what I said and then offered an option. Would I give name, d.o.b., where I lived (??)and was I a maori. Seeing they (guvmit) already hold that info I said yes. She filled in form for me, asked if I would sign it, I said no. So she put it in an envelope, unsigned and said she'd post it for me. So apparently it is all bluff. Wife was suitably annoyed that she had been suckered. And guvmit b.s. was satisfied apparently |
