So for the upcoming Xmas cruise can we re-cap on what the latest rules are saying we can & cannot do - for Covid and other stuff?
1. Overnighting on our boats is officially OK now?
2. Can we cross the Auckland border and if so what conditions apply and what dates?
3. Anchoring - no anchoring around parts of SW Barrier but Fitzroy itself OK? Anywhere else banned?
4. Fishing - as normal (which usually means chicken for dinner for me)?
6. Scallops - what bans are in place around the Gulf eg Waiheke / Coro?
7. Scrubbing - where can I scrub my waterline legally at anchor?
+ anything else I’ve missed?
Get the idea?

Now that you have rid yourself of that pesky AIS you can probably do what you like.

Cant anchor in [see post below for links].
Overnighting okay (been doing it anyway and will be out this weekend).
Can leave "Auckland"
As far as I know the Waiheke and GT Barrier restrictions go as per boundary
Scallop bans around the eastern side of Coromandel
EDITED FOR BRAINFART.

Fitzroy is not included in the no anchor areas, it is Tryphena, Blind Bay & Whangaparapara

Anyone across the current holding tank dumping rules? Depth and distance from land? I know they've changed recently (as in the last 5 years). I always go out in deep water, but sometime the boy leaves a 'present' for me in the heads (last time just after I emptied the tank, grrrr), and its nice to now where I can legally drop it.

You must be: in water more than 5m deep more than 500m from shore more than 500m from a marine farm more than 500m from a customary fishing reserve (mataitai) more than 200m from a marine reserve. Crazy rules. You could go 1/2 way between Rakino(woody bay) and Motutapu(mullet bay) and let it go and see if you can beat back to the bays.

I usually dump in 20m plus, and in fast moving water if I can find it. At Kawau / Bon Accord, we will putter all the round to North Channel and drop the load on the outgoing tide. It just doesn't seem right being able to dump just off Mansion House (or anywhere at the mouth of Bon Accord) or even over Eclipse or Iris Shoal. I don't think you should be able to dump anywhere in that wider Kawua Bay area at peak holiday time. Maybe I'm more environmentally aware than I give myself credit for. That 500m from land rule would explain all the red lines on the Navionics ap...

I’m with you on that , small harbours like whangaroa should be go outside and dump or BOI you should have to go out to middle ground or something it’s just crazy that you can empty in behind the islands
