Walked past the telly when the AC replay was on after hearing to gosh shock horror news that 2 race boats got close to each other I though why not so had a watch. One boat was 1/2 kilometre in front of the other. Nothing else of interest to report bar the lack of spectator craft, unless they were all behind that big blue wall that surrounds the track.
For over a billion bucks spent one would have expected more.

Was watching Mozzy Sails with the kids just last night. Not sure how much the kids understood, but it gave me an opportunity to explain what computational fluid dynamics was, and something for Miss 11 to aspire to, as she's good at maths. Mr 9 just thinks ETNZ are "very clever". They were really interested in the details around the foils, size, the toucon nose etc. I didn't know ETNZ have the smallest foils of anyone, shame the commentators don't give us that kind of stuff, instead of repeating non stop "there's nothing in it..." |

I see they are seriously considering cancelling a days racing to ensure it all wraps up on the weekend. Don't want it to fizzly out mid week.
Apparently the rules prescribe that the race officer needs to consider a greater crowd to humiliate Sir Ben infront of. Fascinating.

The blister is in Barcelona and reckons the fan zone could be the Viaduct due to it being so full of Kiwis. She also said some of the locals aren't happy with the sales pitch, what place wouldn't be as the sales pitch is usually OTT compared to reality. That may have an input into the schedule, time it for more visitors who hopefully spend.
She reckons it's going down well even if subdued compared to the more compact and crazy fanatical fans you get in Auckland.

Yes I was a bit disappointed. I had hoped Britannia would win it for several reasons - one of them being just to make it a bit more interesting with a new holder for the first time in ages.
