I have seen that before. It seems to be dusted off and reprinted once per year. Blatant Politcal BS Propaganda is so very obvious with how that has been worded.

newshub running it now too
looks a very "best possible" outcome theory based on some limitless source of money
to balance it needs a "worst possible outcome" based on a crashed economy with a substantial brain and funds drain
then voters can work out which of the middle courses they think is most likely
at first blush it looks a lot like what the soviets tried
i know the greens hate it when that comparison is made
but it seems most valid

Quick reply....they don't. If that was implemented it wouldn't alter the world temperature one little bit. That's if you believe climate change is man made.Oops person made! Now the pollution bit is another story. Something like 69% of CO2 is removed by the ocean apparently. Never mind about carbon credits for forests. That's a government rort.World wide. The greatest danger to NZ are the green opportunists.

i see the writer blithely talks of a 'rent-strike'
would there also be 'tax-strikes' and 'rates-strikes' by people concerned that crony gov. was taking too much, providing too little and far too unaccountable?
barely scratch the watermelon greens and you see the deep red communists underneath
last centuries biggest, most extensively tested, expensive and soundly disproved political theory
and they think a little re-branding will ensure that hundreds of millions of lives again won't again trashed?
money for nothing
and virtue for free

Nicely put Eri...
And your chicks for free. ( We are in Dire strait's)
The problem with the greens is they have no clue where the loot comes from to pay for thier bullshit Ideas that are just made up to make them look like global leaders.
They are like one Farner cleaning his 200 meters of river frontage while down stream the council pours out millions of tonnes of sewage and they then have the cheek to tell the farmer he is not doing his bit.
Greens are good at spending your money but have no clue where it comes from.
Maybe The green thinks money grows on trees.

They don't call it global warming anymore cos they know GW can be measured and they will be found out. They now call it climate change... WTF does that mean?... Fark all!.... And it can't be measured or judged.

Their fundamental problem is that they are not a "green" party. They are some weird mix of extreme socialist, greens.
That is why I can never support them, even though like almost everybody I know would like a progressive improvement in environmental outcomes.

The reason it went from Global warming to Climate change was due to the fact that as the Climate over all warms, we begin to see more and more extreme events. So we get temperature and Weather events in both directions. It maybe hot here for our Summer, but it is possible that some Countries will experience big Winter Storms, or some Countries may experience unnaturally warm Winter weather. There is no longer any normal. If and this is a big If, the warming Oceans cause the "converyor belt" Current to stop or reverse, then we could also be plunged into a mini ice age.
Just because we have a series of record breaking hot days, does not prove Global Warming/change. Even an entire Summer does not prove that. So I do get annoyed at Media and the extremists using such things to holler "It's Climate Change, we're all doomed". The Earth has always had cycles and it always will continue to. But over all, the average has been rising at we cannot deny that. It is only when we see a continuation of Summer after Summer of higher than average temperatures, that it can be said that it is due to Climate Change. For us here in NZ, the Country sits in an area of latitude where we do not see the same extremes. In fact for Marlborough, we have had the first early Summer of hit weather I can ever remember. I don't know what the rest of the Country has experienced. I think any fool and his dog realises our Winters have become less cold overall and Summer temperatures more volatile as the years go on. I can remember as a teenager on the Farm, I would be duck shooting start of May on all our Farms Ponds. It was always cold wet miserable weather at the begining of May and the Ducks would come in low in the misty rainy evenings as it began to get dark. Those Ponds have never filled at that time of year, for at least the last 20yrs, maybe more. They only fill in middle of Winter if they have had a wet one. It is not unusual to see them dry through winter for several years in a row now.
But I totally disagree with the ideas of how to combat Climate change. Carbon Credits for instance is a joke. I see nothing but Hypocrisy when it comes to the Greens and the likes of James Shaw flying all the way to Scotland for a meeting. And missing the actual meeting anyway, makes it even more of a joke. Or that the Greens and Thurnburgs of our World cry out we are all killing the Planet, yet they are happy to wear Synthetic clothing and use their Cellphones. The later of which would solve the Worlds energy shortage overnight if they ditched the Phone. Not to mention the Resources being dug up continuously so those People can continue to have the latest in technology to play Pokemon and txt pathetic message to one another instead of getting off their Butts and going to actually visit their mates like you and I did when we were Kids. I like many of us, find it Hypocrisy when it comes to Electric Cars and other ideas of "Clean Energy", when the....well you all know it. My view is that we do need to accept that there is Global Climate change. N ot all of it is man made, but we sure have been responsible for a large chunk of it. But even if lets say we haven't. I would still like Clean Air to breath, our Animals to remain alive and not full of plastics and I want to do my bit. Hence why I have spent the last so many years studying Chemistry and designing proccesses to combat the waste plastics. I become the most angry when I see all the rubbish on the sides of roads that have been thrown there by Teenagers that couldn't give a crap about any of it, yet are the first to join up to a Protest march. I get angry at the Countries that dump tons of refuse and Plastics directly into the Ocean, when some stupid have no clue causes the Plastic Shopping bag to be removed. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Nice one G.
I'm a simple dude and the way I see it is like this.
What we know...
Since forever the planet has warmed as it exits an ice age ✓
The sun is coming closer as we know it is ✓
As such The planet is warming because the sun is getting closer.✓
All the experts connot deduce how far this cycle will continue before the sun starts going away if indeed it will.✓
These esperts have at most 150 years of so called data on a transitioning sun that has been on the move for hundreds of thousands of years,.... So we can assume the experts know jack about what's happening✓
Then they say man it advancing this process by our emissions.?
Yet they can't determined or quantify how much the sun's influence is a big factor✓ They cannot even determine or explain how much the planet contributes to harmful emissions. ( As we know the sea contributes most of the carbon we have floating around mixing with cow farts and car fumes)✓
The experts are quick to tell us it's all doom and gloom. They've been telling us for decades and so far have been far from correct.✓
Remember the hole over the south pole that was increasing and going to cause hell! .. well it shrunk!
Here's how it's going to end...
In twenty years time the climates warrior's will be shamed into living up their own rectums. ... Yip, they will find that everybody reached their emmision targets and the planet got even hotter.... But they now have a E waste issue to deal with .. Here's my solution.. .
Plant a trillion trees PA , cross you fingers and get on with life.
No good trying aimlessly to save the planet and All dieing miserably.

wow, I actually agree with G on most of what he says above, would only dispute the degree of man made influence on the climate which no one can quantify, but that is just a matter of degrees. Not one of the doomsayers predictions (Gore, Hansen, Flannery(Australia), Mann et al) have played out, yet still they go on and on. The usual story here is follow the money, the profits to be made in "green" business are very high. You keep hearing how power generated by "unreliables" is approaching the cost of traditional base load generation, then the governments say "that's great, you don't need any more subsidies", the generators are horrified "you can't pull the subsidies or we do not have a business. One major example was Abengoa in Spain As far as future climate trends one to watch is sunspot activity (ask any HAM radio operator, they will always have an eye on this for propagation), 21stcenturywire.com/2020/09/05/global-cooling-noaa-confirms-full-blown-grand-solar-minimum/there is a view/concern Earth could be heading for another "Maunder Minimum", referring to a period between 1645 and 1715 when sunspots were very rare. Time will tell ....

Thanks CZ.
Schooner, actually, over all, the Earth is moving away from the Sun. Overall, that is. As the Sun burns away mass, it's gravitational pull weakens and the Earth slowly expandes it's orbit. But it is so stupidly small. A 3 millisecondes of orbit increase for every 100yrs, or equal to about 15cm per year in distance. At 149 million K from the Sun, the distance of increase is hardly noticed. On a smaller scale and faster scale, as the Earth moves around in 1 cycle, the Gravitational pull of all the other Planets has a minute effect on Earth and causes us to move in toward and out away from the Sun all the time. The Moon has a greater effect and if planets and moon and Sun are all in the right position of greatest influence, the distance can be a sizable amount. But it is never enough to cause a temperature change. There are many other cycles that vary as well. Some are short term cycles and some are longer time scales over like thousands millions of years. Every now and then, several different cycles will alighn to cause a measureable amount. CZ, the Sun Spot thing moved through the minimum phase. We just started the next Solar Sun Spot cycle. There is certanly a small influence of Climate due to Sun Spot activity. Interestingly, the last time we experienced the very low, almost no activity, when the Sun started producing Spots again, some of the largets Coronal Mass Ejections took place.
Man made warming is thought to account for about 30% of the overall Warming. This is where I am concerned. Even if we stop all forms of Atmospheric Pollution today, we only have ruffly a 30% influence in cooling the Planet again. That means it is going to take a long time to see any difference if we all stopped today.
The Ozone, or lack of it over the Antarctic, has indeed decreased. Scientists now say that this could cause warming, due to the Ozone reflecting heat that has bounced off the Earths surface, back down again. It seems we can't win.
Planting Tree's sounds good, but a Trillion, or even a Billion as Shane Jones proclaimed, is a lot of Trees and we don't have the Land space available. This is one of the concerns of Farmers. All available Farming land would be taken up by Tree's if a Billion Tree's were planted. Then there is the Question of What kind of Tree's. Pines are fast growing, but are not native and have the least ability of storing Co2. Natives take 3 times longer to mature, but use up more Co2. I don't want to see NZ covered in Pines and besides, we need Farming.
CZ touches on important points re subsidies...or lack of them. We need a decent overall stratagy. None of these ridiculous hairbrain proposals like Jones put forward. I am not saying we need Electic Vehicles, but we do need to look at what one of the Scandinavian Countries have done. Sweden or Norway, I forget, but they have subsidized Electric so much that they now have an entire electric vehicle fleet. We need those kind of Gvt all in stratigies. Relying on Carbon Credits does not work. None of the ideas wirk. They all end up as costs puched back on the Tax payer or end user.

Agree with most of what G said.Except man (person) made contribution. I understand somewhere around 70% CO2 removed by the ocean,If this is true it shows Carbon Credits for trees to be the rort it is ? The worldshould be taxing the ****** out of plastics which are killing the oceans ? This would force packaging back to glass cardboard etc. Imagine no convenience packaging to throw away.
