Wow....ETS @ 18.1 c per litre.I didn't know that. All disappearing into a big black hole of Government(s) to be pillaged and plundered. All at Green behest ? They used to be environmentalists but now just ideological opportunists. .It beats me that people are so stupid they can't see through them. I think Jeanette Fitzsimons wa the last genuine Greenie pollie ? Petrol taxes up around a dollar since the bimbo PM took over destroying NZ. Howzat team of 5 million. Gotcha whilst she was being kind She has admitted we are being fleeced. She said she would do something about it. What did she do. She fleeced us by taking our taxes and handing back a small proportion back to us. Meanwhile the fuel companies are still fleecing us.

Looking at Manaia there is a heap of cloud shrouding it
The stack emmisions are going east and no where near manaia... And has been all night.
Any way when this last shipload is processed it will stop.

Thx to the guys posting photos .Tells 1000 words. BUT....doesn't NZ export higher grade oil. In the event of a war or disaster elsewhere couldn't NZ maintain essential services by refining NZ oil? Except the bimbo stopped new exploration. Smart move that. Preserving what for who from where. Tactical genius

Then when they realize that battery powered " tanks, warships, fighter jets, are not viable they will be begging for hydrocarbon fuels and nuclear power resources

Any way when this last shipload is processed it will stop. Those pics were at 7.30 this morning and it was a land breeze from SW , even the ply plant emissions were blowing west to east . But yeah Na itβs good that it will shut down soon. Fuel supplies should be a bit more streamlined for the southern parts of the country with tankers going straight to distribution ports from offshore . In the past NZ refining would supply the south via its two coastal tankers from Marsden

WTF. Mr agro.,. It's your shit polluting the harbour too!... What are you doing about it! I, like you ,do take responsibility for it! A big percentage of my taxes and rates goes to council to treat my shit and dispose of it cleanly. So when they fail and end up polluting our beaches THATS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY NOT MINE. When the system fails that's their problem and they are payed well to ensure compliance with the standards. IF I shat directly into the sea then that would be my issue. So, I repeat, the council pollutes the harbour more than 2 Stroke bio degradable oil.( ref NMMA TC-W3 ) Mmmm, think you will find that Council don't deal with any shit. Watercare may or may not deal with yours though. But I guess I'm struggling with your logic that feaces is less bio-degradable than 2 stroke oil. HT made a call that we are polluting our Gulf with 2 stroke exhaust, 4 stroke exhaust and diesel exhaust. The bit I'm interested in, is your logic (or lack of logic) to justify that by criticizing a completely unrelated third party (Watercare) because their system discharges your biological nutrients when it rains. I'm not sure you can justify polluting the Gulf with hydrocarbons with that logic. We could always blame this govt, or the last govt, and continue to avoid all personal responsibility I guess. If that works for you? PS, are you genuinely interested in what I am doing about stopping your shit going into our waterways? I've got a wee bit to say on the topic, it may take a while, are you up for it? Oh, and I live good and close to the treatment plant, so its not my shit polluting the harbour. The consented overflow point on my network is well upstream of me, so I can flush even when its raining ;-) PPS, you do realise you state you take responsibility for your shit, and then blame someone else for it ending up on the beach - is that what they call a tautology? like, how can you take responsibility for it, when you say it is someone else fault? PPPS, another observation if I may, you call me Mr Agro, then go to town with exclamation! marks! and YELLING, In CAPS LOCK, I just wanted to say, that is coming across a little hypocritical. But each to their own. Didn't this thread used to be about fuel costs? HT made a call saying we are polluting our gulf??really where did I post that, been through thread and NO I dont think I did. What was posted that by closing the refinery we are happy for some other country to produce and pollute their country to give us fuel. Dont agree with fuel prices but then again if I had a commodity that people need why wouldnt I charge more knowing full well there is no where else for you to buy the product..The Government cannot dictate what one can charge for their goods or services it is up to the punters to say Nah I can make do with out it.

Or the so called government could have continued oil exploration in an attempt to make us oil independent. There's oil in the Great South basin .I think it was the Hunts from Texas. 2 big ships Polar Bear and Grizzly Bear came here,it all went quiet and they disappeared. 1970's and rumour was a big find but expensive to extract

Have certainly noticed a slow-down by the larger launches over the last few days. Some of them motoring not much faster than Fogg.

Jeez π³ no wonder theyβre all idling around at 7-8kts β¦ even the increment to 10kts is a trebling of burn.

You think that Riv sucks gas. Sussing a superboat blog last evening and one of the Russian owner ones, a gentle 53m number, is motoring across the Atlantic at a reported 22kts. Word is it's doing a runner to Vladivostok before it gets impounded. Can you imagine the fuel burn going on there.

we run at 70 litres an hour at 18knots. Seems a lot, but can get to Te Kouma in a couple of hours from Westhaven, no wet weather gear etc. Life is short. Used to sail, four hours min to the end of Waiheke. Still love sailing, but love getting somewhere anchoring up and relaxing that is further than Issy bay on a friday evening.
On the bigger Rivs etc, if you are spending $2m+ and worrying about the fuel, you bought the wrong boat!
