I have seen quite a bit in the press about the new Tesla Semi... Here's a review: Actual results showed that with a weight of 81,000 pounds (36749 kg), Tesla Semi was able to travel 500 miles (804km) with 93% battery power use. They have regenerative breaking so you can't do an apples for apples comparison. But that's 1kwh/km which is like $0.22c/km based on nz's average power price... Coincidently I watched a vid on Elons Semi only the other evening. While it went well there is some talk of a little smoke n mirrors potential.
That seems to be due to Elon keeping the performance specs close to his chest. There was also some suggestion the semi had been prepared like they do most vehicals when they do the numbers i.e. in the most ideal of ideal worlds we don;t drive in and with settings we can't use in everyday driving.
It was interesting though, I'll see if I can find it again.

Another opinion piece from John Cadogan on EV's piling onto them, remember he is a card carrying climate catastrophist so doubly damning

Noticed that since the Election the EV prices have been dropping by about the same amount as the EV cash handouts.
Who else didn't see that coming? Besides the muppets who think dropping 50 billion into a tiny economy won't cause a horrendous fucking mess.

Those EV Mustangs have got to be a biggest tarnish on the Mustang name than the last Govt was on sound governance. They have got to be one of the most ugliest cars on the road. The owners have to be the saddest car purchasers I can think of to even buy one, the sad fucks. They prove you can sell any old shit if you find some fucker dumb enough.

The words EV and Mustang are a tautology. They just do not go together.

The words EV and Mustang are a tautology. They just do not go together. Never a truer word spoken. The ONLY electrics Mustangs, any genuine muscle car, should have are the starter motor and a BFO stereo.

Video here commenting on a house fire at Cooks Beach.
Eye witness reports were quoted that it appeared to have started in the garage where a hybrid was parked. Then later the story was changed by officialdom seemingly contrary to what was observed. Make your own judgement. This appears to reinforce John Cadogan's (and others) message that if you are going to own an EV (or hybrid for that matter) best to park it outside your home and definitely have an externally mounted charger and charge outdoors.
