Geoff Young is a supporter of Groundswell, an organization that opposes any changes to the long-held farming practices of New Zealand farmers. However, international consumers who currently purchase from these farmers are calling for changes in farming practices. Beef + Lamb, who also sell to these markets, share the same sentiment and are pushing for change. Banks are also hesitant to lend to farmers who resist change.
Geoff's affiliation with Groundswell suggests that he, as a supporter, will impede any efforts to change farming practices. As a result, New Zealand farmers, including those associated with Beef + Lamb, may soon lose their ability to market their products as "premium" and will have to accept lower prices.
Voters will have no one to blame except themselves.

Groundswell doesn't want change as much as Whotsherface Posie is anti trans and the ocean is made of chocolate pudding.

It's alright GO30, you just need to remember that Duckmaster knows EVERYTHING, oh, and is always right. Any attempts to prove otherwise by yourself is of course futile. He rides a very high horse.

The head cheese of NZ Beef and Lamb just got booted out in favour of a Groundswell dude. Not up on the details but judging by many comments it's a bit of a big deal. Yep great news. Hopefully just the start of the pendulum swinging back and smacking the social engineering globalist f#cktards right in the forehead.

From our open and transparent government...https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/131679612/new-ets-plan-concerns-mori-leaders-but-gagging-order-stops-them-talking-about-it? I wouldn't be surprised if native forests start to feature in the ETS - presently only "new" native forests count. The price of ETS units has been doing a roller coaster lately

National have released their farming policies today. Good soundbites: The party wants to also establish what it calls a two-for-one rule - "for every new agriculture regulation, two must be removed". And the cost to farmers of any new regulations would have to be published. "We will be working really hard to make sure that every regulation that we introduce we actually get rid of two that are dumb and stupid and don't make any sense," Luxon said. Labour had done an "abysmal" job on regulating farming, he said. "We've got things where we've got farmers trying to navigate winter grazing, they've got slope rules, they've got a whole bunch of complexity around fresh water, and all those things are linked together but they're not joined up and synced up." Farmers were spending up to 30 percent of their week on compliance, he said. www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/488234/national-pledges-to-double-rse-worker-cap-ban-foreign-investment-in-farms-for-carbon-mining

Some of the protest is around dropping of subsidies, some quite significant in size, on diesel and some farming gear. I do not support the farmers in that fight, subsides distort and are not good for the world. But I do support them in the fight against new taxes on farming gear.

Subsidies are only a small part of the issue but of course held up front and centre by MSM as it makes it harder for the farmers to gain sympathy from the public.
Its pleasing to see politicians getting a lesson that if they piss people off enough they will come after them. They need to cut the BS and start serving the people not the agenda of the WEF/UN.
