Are you a young fella? I find it is mainly the younger ones that don't understand how Gvt works. I don't know of any Elected Party that has only ever implemented just the policy they electionared on. In fact there would be little need for a Political Party at all.
Hey you might be on to something there!!!!!
We just need Parties to consist of no more than just a Leader. Each Leader Electionares on what they want to do for the Country over the next 3yrs. We the People choose via the majority which list of things we want to have implemented over that 3yrs. Then all we need is to have an Department that ensures those things are carried out. No need for Gvt.
MMP not what we thought?? Well unless most were living under a rock somewhere, MMP has been the system we have used for a long time now. We all had the chance of giving the system the boot, and yet it was chosen by the majority to remain as the system we use. Nor has our Democratic system changed as far as I know. So I don't really know how it can be said that it's not what we thought it was.

thebfd.co.nz/2021/12/14/a-tapestry-of-lies/“An average of 16.8 waterborne outbreaks occur annually, affecting an average of 145 cases/year… the size of most outbreaks is small, averaging nine cases per outbreak in 2000-2004, and is smaller than any other countries for which data are available.” Its not about water quality, its about ownership rights. You can't sell it if you don't own it first.

most of this stuff is about 'control'
taking control off those who currently have it
giving it to those that want it
so it can be turning into a perpetual stream of 'royalties'
that don't have to be worked for

this is where it all gets very curly
it's a reasonable expectation that you have control over what goes into your body
in a pandemic vaccinations are very important
and if the gov. has a trustworthy track-record they can get away with demanding that the people do what they say even if the people don't understand it
but more and more in the modern world people are being left behind
so does the gov. aim at the; upper, mid or lower comprehending voter/citizen?
this gov. is all about 'equality'
not of inputs
not of outputs
but of outcomes
and this is meaning RADICAL tilting of the playing field in an attempt to achieve results never before had
and that is costing it 'trust' in very many areas when it says it will consult, but it may as well mean ignore
so the 1-trick-pony of 'trust-me' is increasingly not working with anyone
too many lies denied
so who can trust in anything?

Remember that chant, "what do we want" and the People yell the want. Followed by "when do we want it" followed by the people yelling "we want it now".
Well the World is looking at all the injustices, the Mega Wealthy vs the poor, the Power vs the Powerless and they know they want things different. But the problem is, somebidy yells What do we want and we have a Crowd that replies with a mubbled and jumbled voice. We want change, but don't know what the change should really be.

Drag everybody down to the lowest common denominator is their mantra. Like Russia. Under the Czars 3% or so fed off the other 97%. Along comes communism/revolution and they got the change alright. A different 3% still feeding off the 97% and all that happened was the deck chairs on the Titanic were rearranged but the ship of state still sank. Eri above is spot on

Change means nothing. It a throwaway word used when you don't know what to do I want improvement and to never make the same mistake twice. Take climate change. WTF.... If the Greens were true to the cause they would use climate DESTRUCTION. BUT they know it isn't so.

democracy? something the 'new left' only give lip-service to.............. like the CCP and putin only give lip-service to communism.........nowadays it's all about POWER - CONTROLafter-all they know what we need FAR BETTER then we do ...
Papers released last month revealed Cabinet had agreed in June to pursue an "all-in legislated" reform strategy, knowing that achieving the benefit of reforms would, in practice, require eliminating the possibility of opting out.
Mahuta had consistently refused to rule out making the reforms mandatory, but did not confirm the move until late October.
Twenty-four councils are now nationally fighting the government's Three Waters mandating through the Communities 4 Local Democracy campaign.
