I do know that our resource consent is coming up for renewal. That will need a substantial fighting fund of $$$. That, and we lease our land from Eke Punuku. If we are operating like a commercial outfit, will they charge us commercial land rates? So there is substantial risk there, hoping Brown sacks the chairman and we get some sense back into Auckland Council Properties. Watch for Panuku trying to get you onto a community lease. They will sell it as 'we can then charge you $1 per year'.
But every 5 years you have to grovel to renew it.
The Westhaven clubs have 40 plus years to run on their leases and as much as Panuku try none are silly enough to go community as we know that means we have 5 years before we WILL be told to fornicate off. But then the clubs do pay a lot of rent to Panuku, certainly a mother load above $1.
So yeap if Panuku come knocking get a number of your wiser, with solid financial knowledge, members together as a battle group to watch every line letter by letter as you know Panuku is in it for Panuku, not you or the public.

Presumably if you’re having any problems with Panuku being ridiculous you could get support by tapping up Wayne Brown - he would welcome any new ammo against those guys.

He named and shamed the manager. Made it clear that what he wrote was his personal opinion and that he had lost the case he had against them on appeal. The manager then declined to have him on landing. Hardly earth shattering and I cant remember the managers name even though I read it this morning.

Is that the long running issue of having his dinghy confiscated and dumped cause he hadn't paid his bill or something? Noting I was banned months and months ago, and still know about Kev's shit. Even in a world of free speech, you have to be careful when you starting naming professionals when only one protagonist is pushing a one sided view of an issue. That goes from some online banter to real world issues like slander and defamation. Not to mention a lack of natural justice (one sided bitching about someone, no ability to reply) and the ability to tarnish reputations and impact on livelihoods. If I understand the context, I would have zero problem deleting that post. |

I took part in the thread and replied to Kev.
IMHO his post got what it deserved because while it might have been related to the subject the guts of his post was banging on about a personal grudge. To me he seemed to be saying Scotts a xxxx so the landings is not worth fighting for.
Ive read plenty of Kevs stuff, he seems like a clever bloke but i dont think the post was his 'finest hour'.
I agree that crew editor needs to remove from his arse whatever is irritating him, but to be fair its his party, so his rules and if u dont like em - dont come.
So anyway - St Chads next week it is right?

I looked at a yacht up on the hard a number of yrs go.Went to the office and got all sorts of run around when trying to enquire about hardstand,how long can the vessel stay/fee/what one can or cant do etc. In the end walked away from the vessel due the person in charge not being capable of answering questions. Have sent invite to Kevin. |

I really like the Landing - Jonny (?) is awesome. Had great service there, really friendly. It is my go to place since before P21 due to better pricing.

DYC should be OK for a while at least, they have a long term lease and then locals are tight.
The Goldhole (shore side under the bridge) was on the chopping block and was about to be turned into a bike path for the bridge crossing we knew wasn't going to happen 15 to 20 million dollars before the Council/Govt got smacked by the reality stick.
No idea about out East.
